Co-op disconnects. Any ideas?
I can't find anything that says From is aware of the problem, but it's been terrible. After roughly 2-3 minutes of joining a session the game the collapses. There are certain times where things seem stable, and times where they aren't. And usually, it seems as though the high game traffic periods are the times when everything is unstable.

Anybody found a way to deal with this? I assume not everyone is having this problem, but I've seen it since launch.

yup that was me about ten mins ago.
Spent last little bit scouring internet for any hint at possible solution on our end but consensus seems to be it's server side.

Last night, this week in general when first started doing a lot of coop and I've had very few disconnects, they happened but like 1/10 times running bosses.

After this patch, 9/10 if not every time, I dunno was playing at right times before or what but yup looks like just luck of the draw or an issue going under that radar largely, posts on reddit etc going back to launch day reporting exact same issues, followed up by same posters more or less confirming it's been going on still.

It just strikes me as really strange that this whole forum isn't plastered with complaints about this. Makes me wonder if its a hardware compatibility problem, or some other thing that only affects some users.

The patch seems to messed up the connection to the server.

For my part, I haven't noticed a change. It's exactly as bad as ever. Which is to say, only 1 out of 10 sessions last beyond the 2 minute mark before severing.

Yeah, so many factors with this game tho from solo crowd to people dodging EAC, let alone hype just burying any real conversations. But guess better light a candle than curse the dark
Sent a report/my dxdiag to them here, for what it's worth haha: https://support.bandainamcoent.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Yes, it makes 3 people co op unplayable. usually the last person summoned DCing randomly every few minutes Invaders every few minutes it's all very annoying as ♥♥♥♥. 2 player co op does the same thing just not as often. My guess is From got cheap servers or not enough and the game servers are basically being ddosed by the shear amount of people using them. We notice Boss fights rarely DC for us we hypothesized that they get priority but anything other than that and is constant.
So for our playthough we basically pick some where we want to co op go in solo and then group up outside the boss door and even then we get instantly invaded lol.

hopefully a "mod" wink wink nudge nudge will allow private servers so you can play the game co op with friends....

I am also having the same issue, I contacted Namco about it and told me to try port forwarding, I have not tried as I have given up playing out of frustration of the DCs so I will try some day
If you are still under Upnp portforwarding is useless. The port forwarding thing is the last hope of bandai when dealing with them.

I did end up doing that a while ago, and it seemed to help. Of course, having to actually get into your router and do that for a game is something I haven't had to do since the 90s... but whatever it's at least working.

What specific ports did you need to open?

I have these ports open, but it didn't help me at all.

Just to check, when you say "open" you don't mean merely unblocked, right? You're forwarding them in your router?

If so, I don't have any other ideas. I'm not even sure THIS one is working. The improvements may have been incidental.

I'm pretty sure it's steamworks multiplayer and should not require any port forwarding. Game is broken.

Same issue: playing coop with a friend, we have played several online games without an issue.

- First time disconnection after aprox. 2 mins.
- Second time around 2-3 mins we got invaded and my friend got disconnected.
- Third time around 5 mins i got disconnected.

If games like League of Legends have no massive disconnection issues without forwarding any port, my hipothesis is the problem is on Fromsoftware, not on our connections.
I have a Fix that worked for me and my cooperator.

They needed to be signed into their friends list on steam AND be visible. We found a forum post of someone saying this worked for them, and we tried it, and it worked for us.

Before we had all the same issues of disconnecting some 2 minutes into coop. Once we made this change we stayed connected the rest of the night.

Again, make sure both of you are logged into your friends list on steam and visible.

Some fixes aren't but placebos.
Admiting this last trick does the job, you still will be disconnected from pvpers. So why do not directly use the seamless coop mod instead ?
