Specifically his lava wave move. IVe tried everything, dodging toward, away, to the side, ive tried running, tring to jump. What is t he timing?! Its guaranteed one hit death, and i cant avoid it.

The best way to beat him. Use a mimic tear as far as you can level it 6+ or over at least.

You can either 1 use him as bait and do the fight normally or 2 assuming you have 11 flasks 10 mana 1 health. Fight him with mimic normally for first phase then 2nd phase switch to mana flask spam weapon art, time it tho and just keep it going it'll stun lock the boss.

Either of those two will work.

It is specifically designed to kill that guy

Yeah exactly thats why I mentioned using him as bait cause the stunlock way didnt work for me but it does for others. The mimic for me just kept stun locking so I just didn't have to do it bit of rng luck I suppose though.

He puts his head down into the ground and throws lava/rocks at you, i always tanked that attack, tho i just thought i failed at rolling from it

I used the fire resistance incantation and the sword that is in there.
Got up close to him standing in the lava. Spamming heavy attacks and special attack.

Assuming you mean his long range one, Just sprint to the side, dodge roll to the side right before it hits you, or just block it.

Other than that, a shield and shield poking make this fight a joke. You can even kill him before his second phase can summon his rain of death.

Oh, you dodge the rain of death, just run in a circle around the edge of the arena until the orange mist disperses.

the timing's tight but you can dodge it, if you see him charging it you can also weapon art right as he starts to stagger him right before he does it which cancels the attack.
