rogier asleep at roundtable. is his questline ruined?

i finished the story on this character up to the entrance of the forbidden lands. and then i finally noticed that rogier moves from stormveil castle to roundtable hold. but he's asleep. i haven't spoken to him since the castle. can i still talk to him for his items and his vendor at any point?

i dont know what happened to him, my friends said he got cancer.. he just started making noises sounded like he gets no air or something, like his lunges just said goodbye... after i went there again he was dead and i got his pearl :( poor guy

his questline is an optional component in another questline. you didn't miss out on anything (he'll eventually drop a bellbearing that lets you add his shop to the Roundtable two ladies)

you can actually find out what happened to him~ he interacted with an unwholesome thing in the basement of the castle and it wrecked him.

So how do you go about getting his bellbearing? He's just useless in the roundtable at the moment for me.

#edit - for those in the same position as me you need to find his bloodstain and then rest at a grace, then he'll drop his items on the balcony in the roundtable.

#edit 2 - still unable to get his Rapier via this method. Seems all hope is lost.

#edit 3 - you have to travel outside the Roundtable and back again. What a rollercoaster of emotions.

if you check him closely you see thorns sticking out his ass, i am assuming he got cursed / death blighted by his assailant.

assuming he might die later on, maybe they will make it a quest where you might cure him?

In my experience, just now, if you don't kill the beast by his blood stain, his items will not appear at the table he will be stuck in his dying sequence until you do. hope this helps.

FYI, for most quest progressions or boss special spawn conditions you have to do one of the following:

Rest 2x at a site in a row with the 2nd time meeting boss spawn condition and at times it is enough for a quest to progress.

Or for quests, usually this one is the solution, you must fast travel to another site of graces that is not in that area, rest at it, then you can walk back or fast travel back and it should progress if there are no other conditions necessary to advance it.

For missing Rogier's quest for those wondering his death is due to a curse and as Small stated you didn't really miss much. It is some minor lore stuff and he helps lead you to other quest stuff that you can still do regardless just without some dialogue.
