Soundtrack is quite disappointing
Elden Ring's soundtrack is a disaster. It's worse than DS2's and only slightly better than DS1 if Gwyn's theme and Firelink aren't included.

The ambient music is as basic and bland as can be, long repeated sustained notes with minimal percussion. How do you go from legendary themes like Abyss Watchers, Slave Knight Gael, Twin Princes, DSA, Darkeater Midir etc. to awful 1 minute long miniboss themes that are as bland as they can get, and extremely basic long sustained notes?

And the fact that miniboss music gets reused for a lot of the MAIN bosses / "Great Enemies" that are tied to trophies and are therefore deemed more important than the rest of the roster, is insulting.

The soundtrack of the Ancestor Spirit is quite amazing though...

i think somebody hyped them self too unreasonable highs and now have to create threads in complaining about very subjective things

i just been hanging around limgrave and i agree the non combat music there is pretty boring, i assume the other zones get their own, different soundtracks though.
i do prefer the way it was in previous souls games

Yepp. Some boss themes are still pretty descent though. Until now there's nothing which beats Bloodborne's Vicar Amelia soundtrack.

I was expecting Slave Knight Gael tier OSTs and kept waiting for it to get better the further into the game I went, unfortunately I was never wowed. The reused "Erdtree knights" OST and "Dragon" were my favourites, and those are minibosses so..

Motoi Sakuraba was absent for this From title. I wonder why.

I don't think to much about it but there was one part I was in with violins playing and it sounded like it was straight out of lord of the rings and I had to stop for a bit and just listen to it. (it was underground somewhere)

Only a couple of memorable tracks in Elden Ring, yeah, and even then they're not THAT great with the exception of the capital BGM.

Roundtable Hold's soundtrack is somewhat nice I think but it definitely can not be compared to Majula's and Firelink Shrine's OST.

I agree, but I honestly think the ambient music is more memorable the than boss themes.
Boss themes are very forgettable, the only one I can recall is fire giant.
Limgrave ambient and combat music drives me up the wall though.

Or people just enjoy the music in these games and want to share their opinions?

If nothing else the Godskin Apostle theme is truly amazing.
