Bosses in the game are also characters, characters have feelings, and so they are made to have a story. Fromsoftware bosses have good lore behind them, and not just "I am swordsman I smash" like a lot of other games.
Plus he fought the constellations, won and sealed them away, somehow...
I legit didn't know there was a horse since I didn't notice it during the fight.
Is he tokyo drifting on a tiny horse?... Yep, drifting on a tiny horse. Boss is really cool though.
