Tips for Commander Niall?

I don't know what is going on lol. The two knights the boss summons one shot me with their combos. How the HELL am I supposed to kill both of them and THEN the boss? Hello? The knghts literally one shot me with their combos.

Hope your summon can aggro the boss and one of the summons. Kill the other one. Then move on the next and then the boss. Generally if you can avoid their initial flailing you can kill them.

That's the problem. I'm already doing that. But the dual wield knight one shots me with his spin combo and each of his hits takes one half of my health. Tried using a shield which I never do and my entire stamina was gone with the combo, killed me after. I'll keep trying but this seems kinda insane. I don't think I have the HP for this lol.

Kill his summons first while the boss helplessly chases you around
use a ranged weapon / inflict some status (just don't try dragonrot as he is either immune or resistant)

Yeah. This is not happening. I simply don't have enough hp. The knights alone kill me in the first seconds of the fight. The best attempt I had was with branches, made the boss fight the two copies but then got one shot by the boss. I'm sitting at 882 health. Had no problems so far with "hard" bosses like Radahn. This fight is simply a joke.

Take out one guard, summon Mimic Tear, take out the second guard.

After that hit and run. Don't try to sneak 3 hits in, you'll be lucky if you can get more than one and he doesn't wreck you.

Legit one of the toughest bosses in the game.

Mimic tanks pretty hard and helps out while you take his adds. If you want you can summon me and I can help you out

I have to go, It's late here and I wake up early tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow. I have never once summoned for help in any of the souls games. I can't actually believe this boss is making me want to summon for help. I don't understand why FromSoftware always have to make some of the bosses completely obnoxious when they have so many great bosses in their games.
I just realized Niall also buffs the knights constantly on top of them already killing me in half a second. Honestly I have no idea how someone can like this boss. Has to be the least fun boss in all Souls games. I'd rather fight 10 Bed of Chaos back to back than this.

And yes I have tried the mimic, which I don't like to do but obviously this boss is asking to be cheesed. For some reason the mimic always go to the opposite knight and stays there with one knight and the boss. He dies after a while, If I don't die first that is.

If you are getting one ahot, the way to start is to get enough vigor to not get one shot

Bewitching branches.

As soon as you enter run to the dual sword summon and stab him right as you're able to. Niall will most likely aggro on him, run over to the shield and stab him with another one. Back off and summon your regular summons(mimic would be your best bet). Now you've got 4 vs Niall.

Enjoy an easier fight.

Your spirit summon should be able to distract at least one enemy, in my attempts Oleg usually aggro’d to boss and possibly one knight. Or both knights were on me.

As for the knights they have low poise and can be staggered relatively easily. Can get screwed by twin sword guy’s combo but just keep trying. Once they are dead just gotta focus on dodging main guy’s attacks. Dodging preferred over blocking due to the frequent lightning damage on a lot of his attacks.

I came here late at sl 90something and steam rolled him. This game more than most other from soft titles allow you to make a much more “rpg” strategy of making sure you have the stats where you can reasonably kill bosses before they can kill you simply as a ratio of damage you do to each other.

In short, you don’t have to brute force it if you feel that your damage compared to his is too skewed to be worth your time.

Of course you can grind it out if you have the determination and time. I can usually tell from the first damage exchange whether I should bother with a fight at that time or not. It’s an open world with much to do!

Thank you but I'm out of those branches. I had never used one so i only managed to actually make it work once. I got to second phase and almost killed the boss. It certainly makes the fight easier. I'm gonna try later today again because now that I'm calmer I'm pretty sure I can beat it.

Thank you. Yes I know but that's just how I am. I found Margit at level 12 and decided to beat him that way. Was stuck there for 4 hours. When I find a boss it's very hard for me to "let him win" and give up, leveling up and coming back later. I know it's dumb but it's the way I play lol. If it gets way too much I might do that though.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did it! I knew it! I don't give up and had no intention of going off to level up. I found out the absolute best way to deal with the knights. Two-hand the sword and jump attack away. Each attack staggers and after about 5 you can crit them. After that I just used EVERYTHING when boss went to second phase. Used rune arc, bloodflame, wonderous flask, used mimic (Which I hate to use, but if this boss can summon two knighs I should be able to do so as well!) And just rekt the boss.

God I hated this fight. One of the most frustrating experiences I've had in a Souls game. But this ♥♥♥♥♥ is down now.
