Greatsword or Grafted Blade?
I'm running power stance Claymore & Lordsworn's GS right now, but I'll probably switch to a colossal sword later in the game once I have enough strength. As cool as the Grafted Blade is, I feel like the Guts sword might be better since it can be made into a pure strength weapon (Grafted Blade will need dexterity and strength to get the most out of it).

Why not both? iirc Grafted requires somber smithing stones while claymore requires regular stones, so you aren't double dipping the same upgrade material.

Pwerstancing two GS is better than a single colossal most of the time provided you don't block or use a buckler... and later on you can powerstance a certain difficult boss' colossal greatswords and do crazy 2k per hit swings although it has a 15 int req, unfortunately.

As for your question, I would choose the greatsword because the grafted blade looks terrible, though I would only really abandon powerstance GS when getting a crazy weapon like the one i mentioned

To be honest, I would recommend you steer clear from the entire Colossal Sword weapon class. Simply put, your average Colossal Sword takes nearly two seconds to do a basic R1 attack, far too slow for you to be able to punish even the whiff of a grunt enemy's attack before he can reset to neutral and poke you out of your attack; let alone a boss, who can randomly decide to either reset to neutral and start a combo before you finish punishing his last or simply skip directly to the next combo.

You will hit nothing with these swords and most likely regret putting any time or upgrades into them.

I disagree. Colossal weapons usually have a big hitbox and hyperarmor such that enemy attacks can't take you out of your swing, so what you do is you swing as the enemy is coming to you such that the blade hits them before they can hit you... it's really just a timing and skill thing. Only time I would avoid colossal weapons is on a boss like Maliketh who only has like 1 second openings for attacks between massive one shot AOEs

Well that sucks. I was hoping we had moved away from trying to turn everything into Bloodborne and actually allowed colossal weapons to be good again.

Guess I have to stick to Dark Souls 2 for my Guts sword build.

I disagree. The Grafted Blade is literally the Iron Throne from GoT and I think it looks awesome. But since From hates colossal weapons, I probably will just stick to power stance greatswords.
