I'd say 135 will be like a sweet spot and can even go up to 150.
first phase is just a matter of learning his combos, he has a VERY big window to hit him 1/2 times when he does the hammer smash on the ground (gotta be careful because sometimes he will do a second smash, so be ready to roll away if he does)
just attack him during this window and stay near him so he wont throw ♥♥♥♥ at you
2nd phase seems intimidating but its actually easier after you die a couple times. his melee attacks are suuuuper slow and predictable so theyre super easily dodgeable. get his back and punish while he does 10 minutes long slashes with his sword
when he runs a mile away he can do couple things:
- drop a "mist" that will explode after a couple seconds -> just roll away, easy
- do a 4-shot combo where he will throw 4 holy projectiles at you (two very fast, one after a bit of delay and a fourth one after) -> easily dodgeable and predictable
- a holy projectiles attack that will rain mini projectiles from the sky at you. you just have to sprint and they won't catch you.
- a variant of the holy projectiles attack that, as far as i know, is undodgeable, since some of the mini balls will inevitably hit you. you just roll like mad (controlling the boss, because he can start doing the 4-slash attack or the mist attack meanwhile you are dodgin the mini balls) and have a estus ready to heal
- he will start flying high and will cast a big circle of holy magic on the floor. you just gotta jump/roll out of it before he casts the spell, which gives you like 6-7 seconds to leave it. pretty easy to dodge
oh and DONT target the second phase boss, it ♥♥♥♥♥ up your camera (just like with any big sized boss)
its very hard but genuinely easier than other bosses, at least for me. the godskin duo shat on my face for a hour straight just like malekith. this guy's first phase is super predictable and punishable and second phase is slow as ♥♥♥♥, you just gotta know the patterns (yeah i died a ton there too).
nvm it worked
-The first half was beautifully designed. It was difficult, but in time I was able to learn the attack patterns and could take him down almost hitless. The second half was a pain in the butt.
-I HIGHLY recommend "Lord's Divine Favor" if you have it. If not, HolyProof Dried Liver. It's what finally pushed me over the edge so I could beat that thing. Haligdrake Talisman +2 will also help greatly.
-Normal magic (Azur Comet) doesn't seem to do much, and neither does holy. but I had great success with Adula's Moonblade. I'd recommend doing mostly melee, as the beast jumps all over the place and flies in the air. It can out-range you on most of its holy attacks, so it's best to be on the defensive then. The main openings are when it's swinging its melee sword. It's swings are slow and well telegraphed, so are pretty easy to dodge.
gzzzzz
loved this boss so much, particularly after the piece of ♥♥♥♥ malekith
