Masterpiece doesn't mean without flaw.
2) Fair enough, bugs will be patched out eventually
3) Game runs fine on my computer, 3090, i7-10th gen 16 GB ram, SDD (since we're talking about high-end)
4) Yes, the game was made for console, I'm glad you found that out. However, there are options in the game menu to swap the control pop ups to KB+M rather than just controller.
5) What is so difficult about moving around exactly?
6) Possible skill issue? Obviously the later weapons will be stronger than earlier if that is what you mean
7) The point
8) Fair enough, though I will have to say my only experience of a bug in ER was getting stuck in the ground once from a boss, and then dying. Otherwise in 75 hours of playing, I'm good. Much better than regular AAA games
9) Yes, the open world aspects do get fairly stale once you get to a certain point in the game, but those minor dungeons do still have stuff worth picking up in my opinion.
10) Back up?
11) Melee is not hard, rolling gives you invulnerable phases. However, if you're using a heavy load (which you should not be) then yes, it will be more difficult.
12) Really? You couldn't see the obvious edge in the water?
13) Fair point, It's important to back up your saves and use any other measures players have made for multiplayer.
"Because other open world games allow swimming, so too should Elden Ring" is such a weird permutation of the post hoc fallacy that I'm not sure where to begin.
...the faulty logic of comparing a design choice to technical flaws is no better.
^this, the reality is elden ring isn't just good cause the world, it's the tight gameplay, the fun bosses, the interesting weapons, etc yes performance has issues every now and then but it's not so much that it takes away from gameplay, the fact i've noticed is alot of these people are complaining about souls staples and how all souls games play.
When it comes to a souls like, GAMEPLAY trumps all.
If you don't like the gameplay and limitations of souls games, you won't like the gameplay and limitations of elden ring, stop trying to make it something you'll like by forcing change on those who like it.
Every game out there has issues that today's over sensitive gamer's will love to point out. As it compares to other open world single player games, it's a masterpiece.
Who cares if the first 2 Fallout games from over 20 years ago didnt have swimming in them.
And who cares if the first Assasins Creed game from over 14 years ago didnt have swimming in it.
I literaly posted a video which shows the last 6-7 AC games all having swimming in them.
I dont understand your logic. Are you saying that 3 games from 14-20 years ago not have swimming in them, is a good excuse for the open world game Elden Ring not having swimming in it in 2022 ?
Not including swimming was never a design choise for them. They literaly left it out, because they were to lazy to code it in.
If they had active gripes against swimming as a mechanic they wouldnt had coded it into Sekiro. For Elden Ring they where just too lazy to merge the Sekiro development branch with the DS development branch.
Also if anything I would say "Elden Ring is good, despite the world, missing world interactions, framerate, stutters, enemy and boss recycling, controls, riposte, backstab and jumping animations, graphics,,,,,"
Despite, not cause ;)
Why does it need swimming? Besides the ocean the map is surrounded by there really is no need for swimming.
Because its an open world game, with large bodies of water in it.
And they could have added lakes and rivers and included swimming and diving into the gameplay and exploration, like they did in Sekiro (kindoff), to make the world feel less one dimensional. And increase the interaction with the world.
Instead of just copy and pasting DS3 into an open world setting and calling it a day.
