Stop trolling about how this game is masterpiece

This game isnt masterpiece.

It isnt the best game like someone of us saying.

This game have large amount of unadressed problems.

Speaking about PC clone

1.)camera
Camera is clunky. Very offten slow and jamming (most evident even u have dialog menus).
Camera isnt 360°. So for example you are sneaking on bottom. Mob is on top and you cant see him. You can see him from different angle and if you move to see him than u became easily seen and hitable.

Lets demonstrate clunky camera on example here:

Another story is how camera behave in fight (so here is borrowed description from community member daz) :

"The way the camera functions, especially while strafing, is unforgivable. For KB+M, the way the lock on will jump around if you even nudge the mouse is infuriating and has caused far more deaths than it ever should. Having an option to allow attacking in the direction of the camera instead of the direction the character is facing would bump the score a couple points. Fix the camera and lock on and it would jump the score by several points.

2.)mobs hitting (meelee and spells) throw walls

3.)game isnt smooth even on very expensive computer

4.) bad controls and UI. It is evident that is designed for console controler.

5.)player mobility offten feels like being handicaped hero. But mobs movement outperfm player badly. This probably relates to bad camera and controls.

6.) bad game balance

7.) poor ingame help

8.) unfixed exploits

9.) linear design dungeons
And most stuff can be skipped. Its ridiculous. Just run horse, collect items.... Its Meh

10.) crazy bad targeting system (speaking about spells)
For example u on top. Mob on bottom. you should easily nuke him but this mess just direct your fireball to wall. Only solution is to fire from different distance, but spells also have effective range.

11.) hard melee gameplay
This relate to point 6. So every dude just go for nuking easy button with spell that dont have much issues with targetting.

I could be adding more and more problems as I continue playing.

But after all, game have also shinies parts. Music is very good. Graphics is nice.

So please dont tell me this is 10/10. It simply isnt. At current state its about 7/10 if am lover or RPG and genre and dont want to hurt ER much. So far for me its unfinished product.

12.) Sea - water factor
In game is no info what happen if you go into the water. So you have to find out.
So you walking on beach and try go to water. 1 meter in water ok you can move further. 2 meters you instantly die.

13.) corrupt save data factor
It is sad that in AAA game you can lost hundreds of hours progress because incopetence of developer.
There exist various ways how your save data may be corrupted.

It's still a Dark Souls game and suffers from the same issues:

The controls fight you as much as you fight the enemies, the camera and targeting is horrible and in 2022 we have a game where some enemy attacks ignore collision and if a spell is pre-determined to hit you, it will sometimes ignore that you moved behind a solid wall that is not part of the breakable enviroment.

The games combat in general needs an improvement, which would make it easier I suppose. Nioh 2 does this large scale, fast paced combat much better than any of the Dark Souls games ever had, but then you actually get to do some cool combos without feeling slow.
Dark Souls 4 feels like a relic of the past, with a very archaic combat for the player.

My biggest greivance is that they hired G.R.R. Martin for brand recognition, not for his actual writing it seems, because this game to me is the exact same as all other Dark Souls games, I am well content with calling this game Dark Souls 4, because the world and lore presented makes it sound like this is the Age of Gold, an age that came sometime after the Age of Fire:

You have a dead/dying world, where you move through the ruins of decaying kingdoms, fighting undead/monsters (again) and you're a specific kind of being that suffers from "cannot really die" Tarnished (Hollow). You're goal is to reclaim the Great Runes (Lord Souls) to repair the Elden Ring (The First Flame) and become the Elden Lord (Lord of Cinder).

Elden Ring is just Dark Souls 4, not just in gameplay and spirit, but in the narrative too... it's kind of unimaginative at the end of the day and it's a real shame. I'm really trying to see Martins writing in this, but I simply can't, it's another Dark Souls, Bloodborne at least tried to explain why you have crazed humanoids and monsters roaming about with the tainted blood, Dark Souls 4 just says "uuuuh... the undead curse... no wait, Those Who Live In Death!".

Dark Souls 4 is a good game, not the greatest, but the bar has been set so low by recent games that a lot of fans are just happy to have a decent experience, which yes, Dark Souls 4 delivers.

most of your issues are non issues, the only real one is the strange performance, everything else is personal bias.

it aint a perfect game, but i wouldn't be surprised if its considered for GOTY considering its a large open world game with a lot of freedom of choice/path to take, and build variety.

you just suffer from playing too many ubisoft/ea games in the past that you can not enjoy a game anymore if its not brain-afk easy and handhold you through it
its like muscles, when you stop using them u cant anymore

The only real issue with the game is some copy pasta lazy bosses / unbalanced duo gank bosses.

Honestly tho, compared to the rest of the crap that's been released, Elden Ring is an absolute godsend.

I also wouldn't put it at a 10/10 but its definitely an 8/10. And that's without the DLC's plus major patch updates. This is a game that was really good at launch and will only get better as time goes on.

Not a masterpiece, I would agree, but for From's very first attempt at an open world game, they created a certified banger with only a handful of genuine flaws that could be improved upon should they continue making games like Elden Ring. If this is how good it is when they first start out, imagine how much better they could get?
