What is with the massive spike in difficulty when getting to Mountain of Giants?
Like right before getting into it, i beat bosses easily, and did massive damage, and then went and farmed to level 150, with a 10+ Metoric Katana, 22+ shield, and 65 health.. Yet enemies when i hit them don't do anything at all, and they are killing me in 2-3 hits... Like thats a bit much no? I wasnt expecting to beat them as easily, but jeeeeez, thats too big.

I wasn't even 150 when I beat the game. But if you think Mountaintops of Giants is bad, just wait until Haligtree and Crumbling Faram Azula.
The trash mobs were harder than the bosses (imo). Also, the fact that those bubble blowing babies could send heat seeking bubbles half way across the map from branches well out of my reach was pure nightmare fuel. For the challenge, and the horror of getting killed by a bubble blowing trumpet monster.

lol. I havent get there yet, but im sure I wont be at 150+ when I get there. Thats odd an area require such a high lvl
I was 70-80 when going there (and I could clear the content in it). You absolutely don't need to be 150+.

Then explain how my weapons arenty doing as much damage, and enemies are doing 300% more damage to the point of killing me at 2-3 hits. lol Obviously 70 is not enough unless you want to hit enemies 1000 times to kill them.

As someone who has beaten the game and all bosses, i can tell you what i believe is the issue. So at the higher level areas my personal belief is that the trash mobs hit at a percentage of your health, and not a set amount of HP damage - so the higher up in vigor you go, the larger chunk of your health is taken (since you have a larger pool of HP). I tested this a few times rebirthing my stats and adjusting to see if the damage went up/down with higher/lower vigor. It appeared that as my HP went up - so did the damage of the hits. This wasn't so with the bosses, but with open world enemies. This makes me think there is a scaling in place to keep the world competitive for level grinders (although idk why, since new game+ is where it should be competitive). For reference, I am level 285

Are you sure about that?
Waiiiiiiiit hold up, maybe this is why... I thought the best i can get with a weapon is 10+? When i upgraded it to that it vanished, and wasnt able to upgrade anymore.. Whats the deal?

I stopped leveling at 125. Did the whole Mountaintops and Haligtree.
Haligtree definitely spikes in raw stats of enemies.
Most of u do this because of previous souls. Based on softcaps that are different and the skill requirements. I can assure you, 125 is not gonna be the levelcap for pvp in elden ring.
Just puting that as a sidenote. Its gonna be higher. Specially because of weapon damage with 25+ levels.
I did some pvp, i 2 shot most people i run into. You need more stats.

But yes, everything till mountain tops is easy because you are overleveled, or can be. You can have a 25+ before mountaintops/etc.
One of the reasons this game feels easy is because you can get overpowered midgame with the right tools. This is their fault for puting 25 weapon levels instead of 10, it just means that it creates a bigger gap.

But its only a matter of time till the content catches up to the gap you made by overleveling your gear.
Everything after mountain tops is old dark souls. you will struggle, haligtree is the worst areea in the whole game for sure.

this game if split looks something like this:
first 25% of content -hard, getting started n gear
25 to 80% - overleveled my gear its easy
85-100% of content - ♥♥♥♥ is catching up to my gear its hard again.

This was my experience too.

I remember defeat bosses easily after Godrick, which actually, I did in my second try.

Special weapons go for +10. Normal for +25.

holy sh*t dude level 285?? I've been impressed with anyone saying they're above 120 at this point lol this game is hard for me.
Level 150 is definitely way overleveled for all areas prior to mountaintops, so the fact that you were having such an easy time before that place made the difficulty spike more noticeable. You aren't wrong for pointing out a spike though, there definitely is one. Anyone who hasn't invested in vigor significantly is going to get 1-2 shot by a lot of enemies if they get hit.

Metoric and unique weapons like it are only able to go to +10, which is still worth btw. Regular weapons go to +25

Also, there is a massive spike in enemy stats when you take the lift, I would almost call it absurd to be honest. The main problem is that their health goes up by an absurd amount making it hard to outlast anyone in a fight.
I found out that i am dumb, and it was the Radagons Soreseal i had equipped the whole time, and while yes it boosts attributes, it also makes you take a lot more damage.. I took it off, and beat the boss i been having trouble with on my first try.. -_- Not nearly taking as much damage now. Though this Ice Dragon is still bs. lol
haligtree can go ♥♥♥♥ itself. they just crammed super erratic enemies with way too much hp in tight areas and to top it off you'll get a cancer swamp
yeah the second half is kinda painful to play and im 115
Elden Ring has the worst endgame I have experienced in a souls title. It's making me question if it's still my favourite souls game

The eastern mountaintops weren't TOO bad, but Consecrated Snowfields? Yikes.

Part of it is that, it's right around this point that you're hitting max smithing level on your weapons. Enemies keep getting stronger, but you stop doing appreciably more damage.
I finished the game at 170, and yes, the enemies hit harder as the game nears it's conclusion. Also your own weapon is probably maxxed and many enemies have some elemental resisitances. I skipped a good deal of the snowy area.

And those putrid Erdtree Avatars can go bleep themselves.
