ELDEN RING
Is it bad to put all your stats into Endurance first to equip powerful weapon and armor?
So im playing strength, and I want to equip Greatsword + Cleanrot Armor - which cause 65.7 equip load!!!!!

I am playing strength build, and I have 31 strength and 17 vigor. If I keep on upgrading Endurance to be able to equip these items on "medium load", I'll be around Level 65 or so with Strength 31 and 17 Vigor, but my Endurance would be almost 50.

Is this bad????? Will I struggle from low Vigor points or it is completely viable to do so this way? Is it worth the investment just so I can equip thse items and upgrade Vigor and Strength later? Thank you!

I'm level 40 with Radahns armor, Zweihander, Arsenal charm, Radagon's soreseal (20 vigor, 25 end). With a Godricks rune equipped you can get equip load of just under 70 before you fat roll.

My setup is for both PvE and PvP.
If you're good at dodging attacks then go ahead and level endurance to 40, but don't complain when you're getting 1 tapped by a Footsoldier.
There are quite a few items that let you carry more equipment. Look up some of the talismans. I was rocking full crucible and duel wielding great swords before level 100
High vigor is more important than high endurance, but heavy armor does a fair bit to extend your life, especially when combined with the physical defense talismans. The carry weight talismans also save a lot of levels on endurance. You won't need more than 10-15 level investment unless you're using something super heavy, though. Unfortunately, Greatsword is exactly that, and Cleanrot isn't exactly heavy armor either (you're not hitting 51 poise with it).
Endurance is also action count as in how many moves you can perform one after another. There are calculators online. My advise: figure out what you need, see if that works with your weapons, and invest the minimum.

Yeah, it’s vigor that stops one-shots not armor
Base defense from normal leveling actually reduces one shot potential pretty massively. I'm convinced this is the strongest base defense since ds1 with humanity stacking.
I decided to do a colossal weapon run, so vigor can wait for at least 50 levels or so. With a lighter weapon though you won't need that much. First thing I did during my first playthrough was get Endurance to 25 and it ended up being enough for heavy armour.

I've got 52 end and 55 strength with 30 vigor, i can tank most things in my heavy armor and almost nothing breaks my shield guard with a upgraded gilded greatshield, dont let the haters tell ya otherwise :p course if you pvp tho.. might be a different story since theres a billion spells that will 1 shot you regardless

Btw im using the (best?) equip load increases like the giant jar/the one that increases stats/eldtree favor i still have room with using a fat hammer + heavy armor sitting on med load

Upgraded shield? Last time I looked in the menus it looked like upgrading a shield only helped if you wanted to hit enemies in the face with it.

Does it actually make them better as a shield?

For one, it costs less stamina to block with.
I would suggest this order:

Get enough End to medium roll with the sword alone
Get enough str to two hand the sword
Get 20 Vig
Get enough Str to one hand the sword
Get the talismans that boost equip load
Get the helmet that boost endurance
Get 30 vig
Raise your endurance while adding back on one piece of armor at a time while maintaining a medium roll, adding the chest 2nd to last.
Swap out the helmet last
Pump Vig to 40
Dump the rest of your points in Str.
Endurance is the worse stat to level imo unless you are power stancing big weapons. You just don't see a significant difference in stamina unless you put tons of points in it. Armor is also less important than health if it's anything like previous games. You should definately level it if you want heavy armor but only after you have a good amount of hp I'd say 40 vigor.

Yes, but it doesn't improve it with every upgrade.
your invested Endurance means you dont like executions.

@PoogieZa007

How did your guy end up? I hit 40 Endurance and then went to focus on Vigor, and I'm having a blast.

Me so far:
End - 40
Vig - 40
Str - 16
Dex - 10

Apparently I went on an adventure to get the talisman from the Jar that drastically increase equip load. So for now I can wear the armor that I want and will be focusing on Vigor instead!!!
