Weak to magic?

Hello folks, I'm playing with a greatsword so I've been focusing on Vigor, Endurance and Strength. I've reached Liurnia of the Lakes and I seem really weak against attacks. I've got the Spelldrake Talisman equipped, do I need to sink some runes into intelligence or just look for better armour?

If you can snag yourself an Eclipse Crest Greatshield or Cuckoo Greatshield, it could help. Both have a strength requirement of 32, which is a bit steep...

The important thing is to close distance quickly, and don't take on too many at once.

leveling up ANY stat raises your resistance numbers across the board actually, so you don't have to specifically put points into magic stats to resist magic.
However magic also just shreds right through your armor. Even late game power armor and super duper big boi shields won't fully protect you from it, I find the best strat is just to get better at timing your rolls through it.

Grab more vigor and stop getting hit so much. More than any other game they've made so far, Elden Ring really encourages you to pump vigor hard. You get excellent (increasing) returns until about 40.
