Smithing Stone [3]?
Where are they? I have multiple Smithing Stones 1-7 but 3 has been very hard to find and my weapon is stuck at +8. For instance I have 20 [2] and 17 [4] but no [3]. Is this normal?

look for mines on your map. these small black holes on the map (zoom in to notice em better) are all mines. they ALWAYS contain some of these stones. thier number is depending on the area they are found in. the higher the enemy levels around or the amount the souls of bosses give the more likely it is to find the right ones.

or just get bell bearing 2 for them to be sold infinitly at the roundtable vendor.

3 is pretty common to find in the swamp north of stormveil.

5-6 is common around altus platue and celid.

sadly the last ones 7 and 8 are only found in celid (rare) and the frost regions/endgame areas. the +25 and +10 items (ancient X which you only need one per weapon thankfully) are limited in finds trough the game so choose these wisely as you cannot buy em. according to another user they can be farmed from certain giants later but the droprate seems ABYSMAL like ds 1 titante slab levels of abysmal.

sadly the last tiers of bell bearings are badly placed and cannot be accessed early on unless there is a hidden stargate somewhere that lets you sequence break them.

there is bell bearings for regular stones/somber stones and for the gloveworths aswell. the +10 gloveworths are limited aswell and its unknown if you can farm em.

If you have the right ball bearing you can buy them from Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold. If you don't have it and really want to know, you can find several locations that hold them here: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Smithing+Stone+(3)
