Implementation of an easy mode...
So, there are ridiculous amounts of people calling for an easy mode in Elden Ring (even more than before). How would you actually implement it? It's an honest question - how would you implement an easy mode without taking away from the game itself? How would an "easy mode" relate to multiplayer? :praisesun::bonfire2:

Easy, just let them opt out of PvP and set easy mode but they can never pvp with that character again.

The ones that won't ever pvp will be happy and can play their game, and the ones that would PvP eventually will probably not want to cut their character out for life so won't opt out and won't select easy mode.

ALSO, cut runes earned in half or something. Needs to be incentive for doing it the right way.

Yes but what would the easy mode actually do?

Not at all. This game isnt for people who would ask for something like that. If you want to enjoy it enjoy it in the way the devs intented and not a dumbed down version that defeats the entire purpose. Go play animal crossing if you want to "just relax"

So just cut the numbers for damage taken / NPC hp in half? Some bosses already die in couple hits tho... what would the difference between watching a playthrough be? If you reduce the difficulty because someone can't deal with it - wouldn't simply watching someone capable of dealing with said difficulty be preferred, less expensive option? I played AC: Valhalla quite a bit, and got curious about their story mode - it was like watching a bad movie.

Ah yes, that's why I asked - I don't understand people advocating for an easy mode, that's where my questions stems from... like how would you even implement it?

wasn't this question already asked like for 10 years ?

Wasn't there another thread like this 2 hours ago? Anyway, just increase the player's health and damage. I used WeMod to increase my starting stats to 40 (I'd originally done 90 but then it actually felt too easy) and the experience is much better. It's still a challenge, but feels more like a regular action RPG instead of a tedious frustrating chore. I highly recommend it. You can actually explore, play the game, and advance the story instead of spending 2 days on a boss. Unless that's what you enjoy, of course (but half the players just cheese them anyway.)

Not really apparently, most people advocating for it just "want it", they aren't talking about the ways of implementing it, especially without destroying the game in the process.

Way to kill off PvP.

Honestly, I think it'd be perfectly fine to split the player base.
If you're a new player, or just not a strong one, you're *never* going to have fun being invaded by a big fish. And a big fish is never going to have fun fighting you.

The only big concern would be handling twinkers that would go pick on the easy mode folks. But one idea to handle that might be bringing in "Blue Sentinels" from normal mode selectively, based on the win rate of the attacker. I dunno, that might not be perfect, but for a spitball, I think it at least shows that the problems are surmountable.

I'm glad we can kill easy mode coop players now. They need to get better not to stay in their ways.

I mean, when people talk about difficulty settings, they are referring to what every game out there does. Alter enemy HP and damage. Alter player HP and damage. In the case of a soulsbourne game, they would also alter the number of invincibility and parry frames.

So basically make it a theme-park game? Could work, but only with achievements turned off imo.

If they implement it in a way that is separated and doesnt effect the PVP, then who cares? Put in an easy mode for all I care. If it isn't effecting me then I couldnt give s***
