Why do all weapons suck besides the the lazer beam sword and the hammer?

It honestly feels like you have to play with a few select weapons to any damage at all. spells so far to me are so laughably weak. my friend and i both agree its like they force you to cheese the game with select items vs play how you want.

I mean, you literally can't upgrade the laser sword past level 10 because it's a legendary item. So a level 15 starter sword equaling a level 4 laser sword would make the starter sword look amazing. Of course, a level 15 starter sword is more like the level 1 laser sword because the ability is really powerful.

I think it needs to get nerfed and other weapons need to get buffed. I had a +10 Moonlight Greatsword which took an entire questline to get and it did practically no damage to the final boss. With both its ability and just normal attacking. The colossal weapons in particular were pretty unlucky having slow arts and damage comparable to that to fast moving katanas. The God Slayers Greatsword for example was doing less damage than the Rivers of Blood Katana which was faster, had a near instant weapon art, and had greater range with said weapon art.

Considering so many bosses were really anti-slow melee builds with their little resting time, fast movement, etc. You'd think we'd at least get better weapons. I haven't tried them all yet, but it seems like both in damage and abilities they're behind other builds. I just straight up went and respecced for Malenia.

I was playing my own way oblivious to the meta until i got mad that it feels like all the weapons i like were gabo which they are so saying what you said just makes you look like an Ahole lol.

The fact is the weapon scaling in this game is trash. The soft caps are ridiculous. You only get one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point per strength after 20. I thought dark souls 3 scaling was trash, but this takes it to a whole new level. Sounds like you need to get educated. Ho.
