Why is it that I am never invaded ?
Literally wasn't invaded by a single person outside of when I summoned help even once in the entire playthrough. Is this normal ? I kinda want some pvp

If you're playing solo and online, you won't get invaded by players unless you use the Taunter's Tongue.

So this is a technical limitation. The horse doesn't work online (according to From Soft) so they had to disable it for Coop. This also meant that if you're invaded on horse it would just...kick you off your horse right then which lead to weird edge cases (like what if you were doing a double jump but your horse despawned after you did your first jump) and bad gameplay. They decided to only allow invasion then when you're cooping because the horse would always be disabled. It's a net loss but it makes sense. It also clearly shows they're not getting rid of PvP in future titles.

So due to a technical limitation I'm having the most absolute fun with a souls game that
I've ever had?

Get the Taunter's Tongue item from the roundtable by jumping off the balcony and beating the NPC invader.

Use that to be invaded while playing solo.

And why is horse also disabled for co-op? This makes absolutely no sense lol

I don't know the specifics, just that From Soft reported it isn't working well.

No one stopped you from playing without invasions in any other title. You just play offline, solved.

Yes, you are only having casual mode on due to an engine bug, not dev intention.

It breaks the engine in multiplayer. They wanted to make it work, but couldn't.

i honestly think its pretty good change. i dont have to worry about random invaders and when with a friend its neat to see OFTEN lol. i dont mind really but the only downside is, WHEN u do coop, ur getting invaded alot lol

It's a bad change because people that liked invasions and don't need to be carried are left out of the big chunk of the game while solo players that dislike invasions always could play offline.

Yup, like the change as well.

I get to engage with the souls community messages and shenanigans without having to worry about being invaded unless I choose to do so. I think the series is better for it, honestly.

If you summon, you deserve to get invaded because it would trivialize the challenge.

Honestly glad to see the humanity mechanic removed.

Definitely feel this game is the best in the series for these changes alone.

Eh. As an invader I prefer it mostly being 2v1. If I invade someone and see a solo player I usually just leave.
3v1 can get a little annoying but it's not impossible.

To be fair, outside of Dark Souls 2, you could always engage with community message/bloodstains/etc without invasions, you just had to be the equivalent to "hollowed".

Dark Souls 2 was the only one that truly forced the gank...if you were online at all you could be invaded, even if you beat the area boss. It was the best PvP in the game imo but very brutal
