It's a shame they let you spend all this time and effort changing every imaginable facial and body feature for your character, but then you never actually SEE your character's body or face in the game. The armor completely covers them up, face and all! You can't even hide the helmet, except by removing it, and you can't hide your armor with a costume you prefer. I finally picked up a helmet that had better stats than the one she came with, and it's a hideous gargoyle head! So now I have to run around wearing a hideous gargoyle head. I feel like they are MOCKING people who like to look cool while playing a game. I don't know....

I came across a nice balance with the crimson hood which adds a bonus point of vigour when worn. Very helpful at vigour nine and happens to look rather nice if you like the Red Riding Hood look at least.

The only hide helmet option is when in the status screen, but it doesn't apply outside of the menu. The best compromise I found was removing the helm, and putting on higher defense armour in the other slots to compensate. There is also a couple of headband helms that are fairly minimal that at least add a small amount of defense.

there's no option.

however, armor isn't as big of a deal here as it is in most games, so you're probably going to be okay without wearing a helmet.

It's weird that they have the hide helmet on one of the equipment screens while you are trying stuff on, but then don't have the option as an actual playing feature.

you are supposed to get good so you can look beautiful while you play

or using a Commoner's Headband (Altered) or a Aristocrat Headband, it works great

Sadly there is no option, but wearing no helmet or a head band doesn't make too much difference unless you are really really gonna be a min max snob.

Maybe I will try that. I have one but it I wasn't using it because it didn't do a whole lot. But yeah, you need to be fairly light so you can get out of the way.

Yeah, I finally just took it off and haven't seemed to suffer from that. It was heavy anyway.

Altered commoner circlet, thats the way to go.

Previous games had a penalty that would lower your damage absorption for each naked armor slot. I don't know if this carried over in ER so something to be wary of.

Crimson Hood is also great if you want to hang at 29 vigor mid-game.

+1 vigor from Crimson Hood
+5 vigor from Radagon's Soreseal
+5 vigor from Godrick's Great Rune

Nice way to hit 40 early and focus on other attributes.

And yeah, you get to see your face.

This is not in Elden Ring but it was in fact in previous games.
