ELDEN RING
Game gets kinda boring after a while
I played this game for 20 hours, killed bosses in Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula, killed Margit and Godrick. Now I'm heading to new location, Liurnia I think. And I realized one thing - I have to do the same thing (exploration, killing bosses) again.
I'll be honest with you, this is just boring. You basically do one thing again and again. I don't want to hate the game, because it's not bad or terrible, but it's just boring to me.
Anybody feel the same?

I'm around 60 hours into the game and feel no desire to start it up again. I love open world games but elden ring does nothing for me. I didn't hit any walls either. I was able to beat everything I came across and enjoyed the challenge so far. The gameplay loop however is just so unpleasant and has so many trial and error built into it that it hurts other aspects of the game such as exploration. I even bought an xbox controller so I could get the best experience. That was still a good investment though because now I can play death stranding and need or speed heat with one of the best controllers ever made.
The game lacks a meaningful story, or even meta-story, the lore is also weak and convoluted this time. Kinda like DS2. If you can't get excited on the merits of gameplay options (weps, incantations, etc.) and the - admittedly great - legacy dungeons like stormveil castle - it's not going to get better. It's going to get worse.

There are some areas ahead that are just gorgeous (leyndell city proper, hallig tree and azula) - but all the rest is ... very very unexciting broken hills landscape filler...

The final boss is a joke experience to boot...
OP .. yes. In Witcher. The whole Witcher universe gives me nothing (art & design). So .. tried many times a fresh start. Got bored after 30 minutes. *shrug*

i feel the same i think the open world is done very poorly and the game play is repetitive
Candy Crush offers quick, effortless dopamine release, try there OP.

says the guy who played skyrim which is basically a bootleg version of elden ring. you realize that LITERALLY EVERY GAME has some sort of repetition in its gameplay? your reason for it being boring can be translated onto every other game which would mean that you should be bored of them too. kinda weird take, dude.

I don't need to relate to anyone. I just wanted to share my opinion but it's impossible because you just can't talk with FromSoftware stans
now you show your colors..
you just wanna bunch of ppl who agree with you..
then.. pro-tip: dont vent your opinions on internet, when you dont wanna deal with opposite opinions and criticism.
if you wanna just someone who will agree with you, ask your friend if he can play that person and just agree..
seems like OP created an echo chamber thread and when it backfired, he began to be provocative. typcial for failed echo chamber OP's to flip out that way.

What? How am I provocative? I'm not talking smack, I'm not dissing people. I just wanted to know what others think about this game.

Echo chamber thread? Bro, I Elden Ring was released when, two months ago, three? I stopped playing it and because of that I stopped looking here. I acutally forgot about this thread, that's why I'm not here. Besides, I got better things to do than read this thread. I just moved on, you should do the same.
Have you played any Souls games before? I can kinda empathise though. This game is mad boring compared to DS1 or 3 with actual level design instead of riding around and doing slapdash dungeons

So, Skyrim is bootleg version of Elden Ring? Seriously? Bro, Skyrim was released 11 years ago, how is it bootleg Elden Ring?

Of course every game is repetitive, that's a fact, but Elden Rings problem is it doesn't even try to hide it. You basically do the same thing all the time. There is no distraction or side activities that doesn't require you to do the same thing which is killing optional bosses and clearing dungeons. That's why it was boring to me.

Steam forums will always be full of children, I recommend ignoring them

I know. For some time it was quiet here because people forgot about this thread. And now for some reason it's popular again.

I didn't realise this was an old thread, but I think you made the right decision if you stopped playing after Limgrave & Stormveil. I loved Sekiro, Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, and while I don't hate Elden Ring I think it's highly compromised and a pale shadow of what I liked about those other games. It only gets worse after the first area too

I actually became a fan of From Software because of Sekiro. That was their only game i actually played. So I bought Elden Ring because I thought I'm going to get a game like Sekiro. I didn't and I was sad. Elden Ring really bored and frustrated me. I don't hate the game, I don't dislike anybody who likes it. It's just boring to me.

I think so too about stopping playing after Castle. I talked with some people on Reddit and they told the same thing you did - game gets worse and super unfair later. I'm glad I stopped playing.
