How do you cast spells while on horse riding?

I seen already some videos saying you can cast spells while on horseback but how i tried and i cant cast any spells just use melee weapon

Put your staff in your hand from the equipment screen and switch to it with the d-pad.

i did? i put seal in my hand and cant cast anything

It has to be primary hand. If it helps, you can move it to primary by two-handing it while on horse

ah makes sense i had it always in left hand so all this time i could habve casted spells form horse as a caster...instead of going melee im freaking level 110 by now and i did niot know this
