On top of it whenever you know that you accomplished something important, defeat a major boss, resolved a quest step and so on, don't forget to do a quick detour and talk to people at the Roundtable, lots of things evolve
I unlocked all the graces currently available. But there are places that the game doesnt progress anymore unless you get lucky or find youtube channel.
I talked to the ppl at the roundtable but none of them told me where to go.
How am I supposed to know that? And are t there like 4-5 of them?
This game tells you more about what your objective is than any of the earlier Souls titles. The one thing that irked me was the fact that it is rather easy to miss the talk with Melina in the beginning of the game that unlocks the horse and the leveling up feature. Everything else I found out myself rather easily.
Getting the prerequisites for the different endings is a different matter entirely though.
Edit:
And regarding the thing with the fallen meteorite. You're told that it fell somewhere in Limgrave. Now, if you go to Limgrave and look around a bit, you will notice floating debris in the air from quite a distance away. It's hard NOT to notice.
perfect example of how modern game design has made people complacent and stupid. unable to think and figure stuff out for themselves anymore. it isn't just a Darksouls thing. it is how games like Zelda, the old JRPG's, Ultima etc also were. Gamers back then were able to think and figure ♥♥♥♥ out. Nowadays they need to have their hands held to even tie their shoes or they'd fall over. I'm glad we get some games made in the older fashion instead of the lazy "follow questmarker" nonsense. Where NPC's tell you the same information in 3 different ways to make sure you're not dumb enough to miss the obvious clues.
Cutscenes, dialogues etc give enough information to know where to go next. If you did everyything as claimed. Then you know that Blaidd, in service to Renna is looking for Nokron. And you also have seen in the general direction the meteor went. Put the pieces together and figure it out ... geez.
The giant blacksmith does tell you.
The yellow marks on your map literally tell you where to go for story progression.
It's not bad game design. You're just used to games being linear and holding your hand.
This game lets you go anywhere in any order you want.
Don't complain about bad game design because you're too dumb to literally figure out that you can go anywhere at any time.
LIterally most npcs tell you to go to limgrave, and because I'm not going to spoil anyone, the moment you arrive there it takes one look at the sky to see where to go. like what?
You have to read the item descriptions or talk to the npcs that are in your story at the moment for hints. The direction they give you is consistent until you achieve a goal to progress the story.
