Very disappointed by the PC version so far
Things that "turned me off" within the first couple of minutes:

- no support for ultrawide monitors
- no way to switch the output to another monitor (for multi-screen-setups) from within the game
- locked fps
- screen tearing ( might be an issue on my end)
- no Dualshock button prompts (just why?)

Elden Ring might be one of the best console games there is right now, but the PC-version needs some serious work.

Right now I have to choose between a 4k resolution with screen tearing on my second monitor (TV), or a "gimped" (black bars left and right) 3440*1440p on my primary monitor. Both destroy my enjoyment of the game.

I am not sure if I am just a spoiled pc-gamer, but I do expect pc-versions of games to do better than their console versions.

It's a port, my guy. Don't know why people expect them to put serious work in to ports.

Bruh it is literally not a port. The PC version was developed alongside the console versions.

Why are people so shocked for the lack of support for Playstation button prompts. This has never been a widely supported thing for PC gaming. The default input method for windows is xinput and that is what games are going to support.

Why do we need to know about your disappointment? Wouldn't it be better to email From instead? They can actually do something with your feedback.

Aehm... I dont get your point. You chose to read it. Even though the title clearly stated what this thread would be about. If you are not interested in a topic about my disappointment: why even waste the time to write an answer?

I love that Ultrawide support is something people complain about, most devs don't even get Ultrawide support correct.

Ultrawide is niche, you can't expect support for borderline cases.

@FunWithTreason

Ultrawide is a standard for years by now. Even tiny indie studios manage that perfectly.

Steam survey gave away that at least 4% of user do use an Ultrawide.

not supporting it is niche and you're foolish to sit here and argue otherwise.

OP, this fixes the performance issues, but you have to play offline

as someone else pointed out it's 4% of users, to claim it has mass support is foolish.

but sure. give me a list of all the games that support and don't support Ultrawide.

I'll wait.

4% is massive. should 4k monitors not be supported? what about frame rate past 60hz since that's niche according to numbers, too? We should all be bound to 16:9 at 30 or 60 hz based on this idiotic logic. As for a list to appease you, go look it up yourself. You'll see most games are supported and then feel dumb though.

It used to be a niche thing: But its 2022 and not 1990. And one of the most used Controllers in the world should be supported by every game company.

Just to show how "niche" this is in 2022 - some recent games with dual shock prompts:
Final Fantasy 7 remake
Elex 2
Persona 5 strikers
Persona 4 Golden
God of War
MonsterHunter Rise
Battlefield 2042
Dying Light 2
GTA San Andreas "definitive" edition
Diablo 2 resurrected
Call of Duty
Assassins Creed Valhalla
Deathloop
Kena
It takes Two
Children of Morta
Griftlands
Monster Hunter Stories 2
Days Gone
Metro Exodus
Kingdom HEarts
Hitman 3
Cyberpunk 2077
Dragon Quest XI S
Immortals Fenyx Rising

Ah so it is more common. Good to know. Never gave a ♥♥♥♥. I'm familiar enough with both input methods that I don't get confused about what I'm pressing no matter which controller I have or which inputs I see on screen.

In any case if you don't care about online play you can use Special K to add Playstation button prompt textures to the game.

Of course you don't get it, because you don't want to actually solve anything; you just want to complain. I gave you a solution where you can at least get the information in the hands of the people that can do something about it. If you're just gonna vent uselessly on this forum, don't be surprised if people call you out on it.
