NEW FIX - white screen --> crash

So I have tried out MANY fixes and none worked in my case, the following connection of two fixes made it work for me tho. remember, this is for the white screen leading to crash.

There might be many steps but it will be simple to follow and I want to be as clear as possible.

Step 1
Go to "https://github.com/tuffee88/d3d12ProxyEdrDx11_0" and download the files under "Releases" on the right side.

Step 2
Go to "windows/system32" and copy the following files "d3d12.dll" and "d3d12core.dll".

Step 3
Paste the two files you just copied in to Elden Ring's game folder.

Step 4
Rename file "d3d12.dll" (one of those you just pasted) to "d3d12_original.dll".

Step 5
Place the "d3d12.dll" file that you DOWNLOADED in step 1 in to the game folder.

Now this should fix the white screen but EasyAntiCheat will detect wierd bullsh*t files and still crash, so we must bypass EasyAntiCheat....

Step 6
In the the game folder, rename the file "start_protected_game" to something like "test" (it's not important what you name it).

Step 7
Now copy the launcher "eldenring" and paste it in the folder, rename the copy you just made to "start_protected_game" and press enter. The icon will now switch to the EasyAntiCheat icon.

FINAL STEP
Launch the game with the "eldenring" launcher inside the folder, NOT via steam.
If you followed the steps correctly then the game will start bypassing EasyAntiCheat.
This will result in only being able to play in Offline-mode.

How about those steps not working? Me and many others have surely tried it without result, thus serching so far up the worlds an*s that we find a fix like this xD

Also, the title is very accurate since many people had no idea as to WHY we were getting this white screen crash. What I knew was that my problem was white screen - crash and that this fix (witch may not be a good one at all) solved my problem.

Finaly I think people should crack down harder on a company that dares to take your money for a broken product, might aswell be indian scammers since you pay money for something not possible to use (nothing)

But its not accurate, you are changing DX12 Dlls to run in DX11 mode. The issue that is affecting most of us, is EAC which means unreal engine Easy Anti-cheat. It has nothing to do DX11 or DX12. and actually the second widely known step about renaming Elden ring executables you reference is to bypass EAC, which is separate besides the DLL risky work-around.

The thing is you should not be posting fixes on steam forums around modifying system Dll's and advertizing it where peoples computers may become compromised.

yeah i have tried everything for 2 whole days with zero results, I wanted to play this game but I dont wanna have to practically rebuild the games files myself. I would recommend asking for a refund since the game isnt really playable at this point on PC's that are white screening. I myself am not overly computer savy and alot of the fixes felt out of my comfort zone.

This works for me. I have a dx12 compatible card but this fix allows me to play nonetheless (Buttery smooth, but with occasional crash.)

EAC WAS my problem and when I manually turned it off the game works perfectly fine. My GPU works fine with DX12. For some people it's DX, for others it's EAC because other games with EAC have caused people the same problem and turning it off fixed it for those games as well. I have to play offline (a huge bummer because co-op/pvp is huge for me in these games) but at least I can play the game without crashing.

This is a blocked malicious link by my AV software. People just download any random file somebody tells them to...lol. Any file can do more than 1 thing. IT can fix the issue and also install a key logger on your pc. One covers the other..People are just to trusting..
