I've been getting this error everytime I try to start Elden Ring, and it seems like a problem with EAC. I've tried removing EAC files and then verifying files to fix any error that might be in the files, but that didn't work. Updated Windows and restarted, still didn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

Usually, you get this error when EAC is missing files. You could try verifying game files in Steam first. If this doesn't work, try deleting the EAC files typically located at C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\EasyAntiCheat\GameLauncher. Then verify steam files again. If any were corrupted/missing, this should reinstall them.

There are other solutions out there like manually reinstalling EAC. You can Google them but I can't endorse them. Be careful where you download a supposed fix.

EAC sucks. It degrades performance quite a bit in most games but if you disable it, you won't be able to play online and run the risk of getting banned.

By the way, From Software is aware of issues with EAC and have posted they are planning a patch . Not sure when.

Finally, make sure your anti-virus software is updated. Many anti-virus software heuristics will identify EAC as an issue and block the game from starting.

my steam does not have the appdata folder how can i download another one?

hey i found out what happened your using a mod and have moved files into the game folder that goes against the anti cheat policy. all you have to do is removed those files.

on the ellden ring game where you play it from on the steam deck, right click > manage > Browse local files > game folder . LOCATE ALL UN-ORIGINAL FILES. THIS IS ALL THE FILES THAT DIDNT COME WITH THE ELDEN RING DOWNLOAD. (GO TO THE NEXUS WEBSITE AND CLICK THE MOD PAGE TO FIND OUT WHAT FILES THEY ARE) MOVE OR DELETE THE ALIEN FILES. SO BASICALLY DELETE OR MOVE THE MODS FILES SO IT DOESNT INTERFERE WITH THE "ANTI-CHEAT SOFWARE"
