Use Meteorite spell on the very large bosses (Dragons, Godrick, etc). Get up on their asses when there's an opening and just hold the attack button to bombard them with meteorites.
Rock Sling on normal bosses, while you avoid getting hit.
Glintstone pebble and/or Carian Slicer on everything else.
Optional: Get a rapier with Glintblade Phalanx ash of war. Cast that, watch most mobs break poise when they get hit, and go in for the crit. Don't forget to equip the blue talisman that recovers FP on crit strikes.
Glintstone Scarab: Slightly reduces the FP cost of sorceries ~10%, but increases damage taken. ~5%
Snow Witch Hat: ~20% bonus to Ice Magic
Sorcerer Rogiers Hat: ~20% bonus to Glintstone, murk this guy ASAP
Staffs that you should aim towards:
Carian Regal Scepter: Best scaling in the game
Meteorite Staff: Best scaling early game
Weapons that are good:
Moonveil (OP Ash of War) <- Very good in PVP and PVE
Dark Moon Greatsword (Good Ash of War) <- Very good in PVE, mid for PVP
Sword of Night and Flame (Most OP sword in the game, requires 24 FTH) <- PVE only
Wing of Astel (Very good heavy attack, OK Ash of War) <- Very good in PVP and PVE
PVE spells that are good:
Rock Sling (Huge stagger, great DPS)
Carian Slicer for AOE or when you have a small casting window
Glintstone Icecrag is very good DPS, but much lower range than Rock Sling, great with Snow Witch Hat
Night Maiden's Mist is OP on certain bosses/enemies
Adula's Moonblade works well for high stagger, you need good spacing and timing to utilize against crowds tho.
Comet Azur is a bit overrated imho. Requires a certain Elixir setup and only works once per fight; it has zero tracking so most bosses just sidestep it making you deal very underwhelming damage for a massive cost of time and setup.
Terra Magicus buffs you magic damage in its AOE. Including Ashes of War.
Anything else is honestly very meh.. Either not FP efficient, requires too much setup, or too low DPS. Late game pebble is a waste of time.
PVP spells that are good:
Carian Slicer for mix-ups, especially good if using slower melee weapons
Ambush Shard (use this occasionally for free damage)
Any Phalanx, Carian is best (use this for free damage or to force rolls which you can punish with Moonveil)
Glintstone Stars + Star Shower (Use Stars, then Star Shower, they'll get used to Stars duration and get hit by Star Shower, works a good chunk of the time)
Swift Glintstone Shard (Terrible damage but just a bit of damage will break their buffs. Its very fast, low FP cost, and you can use it while jumping)
Moon Sorceries (Similar to Phalanx, lets you combo/force rolls)
Rancorcall (Ditto)
Founding Rain of Stars (Free damage/Force roll)
Magic Glintblade (Use Glintblade > Time another projectile/attack at the same time as they exit Glintblades roll)
Talismans you want:
Carian Filigreed Crest: Lowers FP consumed by skills
Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: 20-25% damage phys. damage reduction (bad in PVP, only ~4% in PVP)
Green Turtle Talisman: Stamina regen goes vroom
Primal Glintstone Blade: Spells consume less FP, but maximum HP is reduced
Graven-School and Graven-Mass Talismans: Increases Sorcery damage woohoo!
Godfrey Icon: About 20%~ increase to charged spells and skills
Ancestral Spirit's Horn: Restores FP on kills.
Ritual Sword Talisman: Extra 10% damage when at full health.
Warrior Jar Shard + Shard of Alexander: Boosts attack power of Ashes of War; which you'll likely be using for your DPS in end-game.
- You can replace Pebble with Icecrag which deals more damage and can inflict Frozen. And if you need have the time to charge a spell you also have Comet.
- Magic Glintblade can cheese a lot of fast moving boss/invaders (they evade when you cast not when the spells is actually launched which is ridicule but... well) and it's usefull against foes with shield if you make them move a little so the spell will hit their flank/back.
- Cannon of Haima against packs works great
- Lorreta's Greatbow to snipe at long range (cost a lot of PC but can OS)
- Renna's Full Moon can debuff enemies which makes them take 10% more magic damage for 1 minute but has a requirement of 70 int.
- Carian Slicer, Carian Greatsword and Carian Piercer if you want a Battlemage playstyle.
This is awesome! Would you recommend using Lusat or Azur staves at all?
Also I am trying to figure out if Academy staff or Carian Glintblade staff are good. They seem to have good scaling as well.
Carian Glintblade buffs Glintblade sorceries. Which spells count as Glintblade spells? I tested a bunch of spells I have and none seem to fall into that category.
Is it the same as Rogiers hat, or are those two different sets of spells?
