So can you with certain weapons, but it's just From's lazy way of doing AI and not having to worry about any issues.
Depends, certain animations can be hit on the ground/while getting up, others can't, recovery i-frames are different for different kinds of animations.
I diagnose: Skill issue
The only thing I can maybe agree with is not hitting enemies when they're down is a bit silly. But I guess it does make a lot of the 'mid' tier units a cakewalk with a single backstab.
Enemies work off of a timer/aggression IIRC, since DS3. The aggression in ER is a lot higher than in DS3 even, in DS3 you'd have some breathing space after taking damage, in ER a lot of enemies do not give you an inch.
Also, I have yet to see an enemy cancel a combo. I think you mean prematurely end the combo as in a shorter combo. Combos can vary in length. Enemies can't animation/attack cancel, not normally anyway.
It's all about timing and patience.
These kinda things is what makes fromsoft games great to me tho....lets you play around and learn new ways of playing without already knowing how its gonna work out.
