I agree. Been fighting them for 2 hours yesterday with no luck. Not sure what idea is behind this boss fight besides endless struggle.

are you talking about the kitties?

This is a fight that's probably free if you're a mage but is the worst ♥♥♥♥ ever for melee players. Once the second Gargoyle spawned, I ran across the arena and tried to lure one over--sometimes one gargoyle lags behind and you have time to 1vs1 for a bit.

Ummm, noobs to DS series?
Twin gargoyles are the first real player test in DS1, whether you can get gud...
(LOL, had to put that in. honestly, never used it before)

Fun fact. First time I fought the boss, for some reason the first gargoyle didnt even jump down for like 5 minutes. Imagine my utter confusion about wtf was going on. Boss was just something on a huge cliff with no way up shooting me...xD

This fight has nothing to do with slow and simple one from DS1.

Except AI behaviour and moves of the DS1 gargoyles are completely different and actually balanced properly.

To answer OP: Yeah, it's not great. I managed to beat it by running to the left corner when you enter the arena and fighting the sword gargoyle there. If RNG is on your side it should give you some extra time to land more hits on the sword gargoyle before the twinblade one gets close enough to you. Just keep kiting and look for opportunities to finish off the sword gargoyle while watching out for the poison.

Luckily I'd already fought the one at Gurranq's place, so I knew the moveset, but yeah dealing with two of them was pretty garbage. It's not that bad though, the boss room you are in is massive and there are indeed objects and big rocks on the ground to hide behind and it can mess with their movesets. With an upgraded summon (mine was +8 at this point) to confuse and distract one of them it basically becomes more of an extended boss fight than yet another duo death romp.

If you think that's bad just wait until you meet a certain other duo.

the one there didnt have poison breathe....im melee man

My issue was the poison that spread across the room. The twin blade was pretty passive with me, except when he pulled out his hammer. The other one was easy because I already dealt with the one in the eastern part of the world. Probably showed up to that place over leveled.

Well there are a bunch of trash fights in the game, off the top of my head there's the cat statue gank, the crucible knight gank, the ramadan guy, the graveyard shade gank, etc.
