when they pair up, i've been trying to use my scarlet rot incantation i got from a dragon kill as that has been my go-to crutch lately, but they seem to be immune to the debuff (or i need to put more levels into arcane idk)
- They kind of take turns when attacking. When one of them is spamming combos, the other one is usually only attempting dashing stabs. Keep your eye on both of them.
- The one you kill first is up to you, but make sure to focus on just one of them at a time. Things will get difficult in the second quarter of the fight.
- If you decide to kill Mr. Shield first, he will start spamming tail once he gets close to half health. When he does his flying attack, stop targeting him. Mr. Spear very often does a running stab at the same time as this attack, and he will backstab you if you keep your camera on Shield. Use sound cues to know if you have to dodge a tail after the flight.
- If you decide to kill Mr. Spear first, he will start spamming a very quick, very high damage grab with a delay designed to catch rolls once he gets close to half health. He also does a different flying attack that perfectly targets you, and he will use his ranged beam as a normal attack instead of only using it when you try to heal. Like above, Shield will often attempt a running stab on you at the same time as this attack if you're within range. Spear is open for a second after this, though.
- The shielded one is open at the end of the stomp attack where he puts his shield away. He's also open at the end of his shield bash.
- If you have any source of ranged attacks, you can use them on the shielded one when he's spinning his 4th of July sparklers. The spear guy usually doesn't attack you while he's doing that, but keep an eye on him.
- If you have a very fast attack, you can probably tag him with it AFTER his tail spin, if you roll through it. I was able to kill regular Crucible Knight with the spell "Catch Flame" this way.
- The one with the spear is always open. He only has one quick attack, and he doesn't block. If you have any ranged attacks, you can widdle him down fairly easily. If not, just bait him and get a safe tap in when you can. Just be wary once he gets down to 60%, because that grab is extremely cheap.
General strategy for this fight is to play very carefully, get one down, then play even more carefully around their empowered state while the other one spams nothing but running stabs all day. Once your target dies, hopefully you can win the 1-on-1!
Alternative strategy is to be overleveled and steamroll them with overwhelming power.
They are not immune. Even the Knight himself. Just make sure u hit him when he is not shielding/blocking. Have a summon distract him.
