Banned?

I keep getting a notification on startup that I cannot connect to online play due to 'inappropriate activity'. I haven't hacked, haven't cheated haven't downloaded any mods, so I'm confused as to why I've been banned. I really hope this is a false ban that can be rectified, as I really don't want to miss out on multiplayer. Any tips for fixing this?

if you are telling truth first just verify game files and try again; restart pc if its truly a false ban just email from soft they will check and unlock your account back. honestly I will trust you because EAC is really difficult to hack to play online

That doesn't mean banned, I got that message yesterday when I deleted my local saves and attempted to load those nonexistent saves from my PC and wasn't able to login. Putting my saves back resolved the issue and I was able to login and play online.

its a very common problem every game they release for people to start trying to modify save files to cheat out the most Meta PvP characters as fast as they can. Because we dont know whats op everyone ends up just mashing together fun stuff and the pvp isnt that hardcore for a bit.

every release these people try what they did on the last games to do it and they get banned for it. Dont worry about it because of this feature our meta will be more chaotic for a could of weeks. enjoy it while you can it gets a bit more try hard when people can make their characters to specification in 20 minutes.

Source: ive done this. Ive done exactly this in ds1 and 2. before I got older and winning wasnt the most important thing. its still important but I like to enjoy the ride now.

same...no idea whats triggering EAC but the moment I got the game, the first thing I saw before creating character was "Inappropriate Activity Detected". Havn't been able to play online a single time yet. Tried many things like changing steam name and etc but still not fixed...

Disable any programs that interact with the game (recording software, overlays, visual enhancements, etc.), other than Steam. See if that helps.

Tried that one too, I saw someone said that steam needs to be installed in the C drive and not anywhere else. can anyone confirm?

You aren't banned. You just altered your game folder files in some way. EAC sees that and just puts you in auto offline. You need to verify your files to return everything to normal and you are good to go.

The actual bans provide a pop up that says, "Your account has been penalized".

The disconnect 24 hour bans tell you, "You've been cut off from online services because you altF4 too much"

Not true. My Steam is installed on my F drive.

Hi, I played on the 25 of February and haven't had any issues sense, have my steam in stalled to c but game is on external hd.

You might have an antivirus or some other program that the Easy Anti Cheat doesn't like

Just another byproduct of EAC sucking. My game crashed during boss and then I got this msg and could not play. I had to remove/delete EAC folders and then verify game files, then it let me in again.

I think mine was triggered from just having a backup save file (which is required with this pos game because sometimes you lose your saves for no reason after a crash)

Not true. My Steam is installed on my F drive.

Well that's what i mean, maybe "steam" itself needs to be installed on the C drive and have game files somewhere else perhaps.

My steam and library is installed on D drive currently.
