Game date and save data are different versions ???
So no i don't have steam cloud saves enabled at all globally never have played all week seen a few updates for elden ring on steam updated come to play for the first time today and main menu message "Game date and save data are different versions" have restarted steam 10x thinking there must be a new ER update released but nothing read about cloud saves problems but i don't have my steam cloud saves enabled but last resort i have enabled just to see it updated something but still Elden ring main menu same message so disabled steam cloud saves again but still broken can not load my game! ffs

I had a similar issue this morning, however steam gave my a choice which save I liked to load. So I did choose the one with the latest date (on my harddrive).

Did you check if your local save still exists ?

It is stored at: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing

yea got that but i have had no pop up asking me which save file i want to load thats my problem so i am just getting the error on the games main menu with game data save data are different please update the dame through steam

Ah, you have to try to verify the game files. We had a patch 2 days ago I think.

my local save game is there 3/3/22 so i do not know why its not letting me load it since the new game update today probably

Managed to fix it copying cloud save backup file and overwriting the current save file in appdata... and verifying files 2x lol anyway back to normal :steamthumbsup:

For Those Of You Who Are In The Steam Update Loop! (read the post)
-Click on steam in the top left corner
-Click Settings
-Click Account
-Click the drop down menu to select the latest beta version
-Apply the changes and restart steam, it will do a small download
-Boot up Elden Ring after steam update.
