Why can we not upgrade torrent?

Because he's a travel mechanic more than anything. Too many people seem to be relying on him as a crutch for combat skills.

That won’t translate to many of the main bosses. Yup.

I think combat great with horse and I’m pretty sure health scales with your vigour, could be wrong on that tho but ain’t weak in my game and certainly can take more than a few hits from almost every enemy, only get knocked on my ass of being cocky and run into a mob who all sync their attacks at once.

Maybe not upgrade it but, cosmetics? Maybe some special horse armors or just let us customize how our favorite goat-horse hybrid looks?

I dont think he needs full fleshed progression trees, but being able to armor him at least would have been neat.

All the upgrades won’t improve my riding skills. I can’t fight worth a damn on that thing. I’d like some cosmetics though .

I think Torrent is good enough as is. Can outrun or jump over most attacks. Has i frames when summoning or dismounting. Takes a hit for you. If Torrent was a tank it would be even more busted. At least putting points into dex stops you from falling off so easily.

I'd really like some cosmetic options as others have said; there's few mounted enemies I really wish I could've gotten their horse's armor from.

Yeah, I'd love the horse armor that the mounted knights of Raya Lucaria, Radahn's army, etc. have. Would go much better for my knightly-looking character.
