Game uninstalled itself?
I recently installed an ssd, but still running on the hdd as primary. I moved elden ring to the ssd to get the benefits. This is the second time its uninstalled itself. First time I thought it was my error. By switching over to the ssd and trying to run steam on there. I noticed the two games that were moved to the ssd were uninstalled out of nowhere. And only those two.

So before I mention the 2nd delete. I have to mention ever since elden ring came out. Anytime I go to close it from the main menu. It refuses to close on its own and you can still hear the music playing. Even if I force Steam to close. I feel like this is an issue with the very slow hdd. which I tend to have this problem with my other Steam games ranging in severity or how often. Elden Ring being the worst of course.

So now, that it just happened. I forced steam to close, reopened it, and now its deleted again. What could be causing this? I can't just transfer everything to ssd cause it's a 500GB unfortunately. Which wont fit all my steam stuff which totals over 700GB. I'm not that tech savvy. Is there a way I could transfer Steam itself and select games without having to reinstall them? Apologies for the long post, but any help would be appreciated.

You have a folder on the secondary drive for Steam? Is that folder in your Steam library?

I have NVME "C:" primary partitioned for the OS and necessary software and the also games, and 2 other drives dedicated for games. Have all libraries in Steam to scan for games and have never had this issue.

Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders

Oh no I don't think so. When I opened Steam on the ssd. My big brain decided to open it through the files on the hdd.

Ok whats so weird is I looked where i moved Elden Ring to the ssd. Which is where you said in the steam library folders. But my ssd isn't listed as an option to move games to anymore. Wth?

Unless it's an External or that SSD kept getting disconnected. Just install a small game then uninstall gain back access.

Oh wow is that tied to the ssd not showing anymore under the Storage Manager in Steam Library? Also do you think its my hdd causing games not to close properly?

Oh ok yeah its an internal ssd. But it looks like it's dropping connection for some reason. Might have to open it up and check it. I'll try the small download too.

Games not closing properly has many factors be it Software, Hardware, game itself or Steam itself.

If your Internal SSD is getting disconnect which it should not be doing so, that's an issue and need to be fixed and looked at immediately.

Ok so i went back into the steam library folder. Hit the + and selected the ssd through the files and selected steam library. Now it's working again and I don't need to reinstall. Normally the drive is just right there. That's so weird. I noticed the ssd was still being recognized by the pc but just not steam. But if I have any other issues I'll look further into it. Thank you so much for the help and info. I appreciate it.
