Most likely is lost. Elden Ring uses one single save per profile (part of being a souls game is that you cannot go to a previous save to restore items or runes lost)
The location of the save is C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing. You may try reverting to a previous version with right click on the folder (back up your file before doing it).
And moving forward GameSave Manager is a good tool for these type of scenarios. You could schedule periodically back ups for your games
I am wondering if I can send my savefile to my friend so he can continue playing with my character on his PC and his ELdne Ring.
This is good information to know. For the most part, I'm opposed to save-scumming, particular in a game like this that's meant to be played with high risk being authentic.
But...
I can't count how many times I've died due to spazzing out in the middle of a jump or standing on the edge of a cliff JUST to take a moment to enjoy the view and the ground actually crumbles beneath me and down I go. This is usually when I am on my way to collect my 8-12 thousand runes laying where I last died.
Sick feeling...so I'm going to try to back up saves going forward.
Humanity isn't much of a loss in souls games XD But she def lost her mind replying to a 3+ year old post XD
