Target "lock" totally broken...
Actually "Traget Lock" means to "Force" a Target to be viewed!

But in Elden Ring "Target Lock" means, Target anything you want in sight and don't even care about Settings AND the Player's action.... right?!

So Fix this ♥♥♥♥ fast!

What do you mean an update? They won't remove the hardlocked keybinds. So, either get use to not moving your mouse at all (use different keys for attacking will help) or turn camera/mouse sensitivity way way down.

There may be a mod for it, idk, but that would remove your ability to play online...cuz of the brilliant idea of adding EAC to the game.

i got a totally different problem. had no real problems with lock on in other from games except for the occasional weird first lock on an enemy that isnt rly in sight and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my movement because the camera suddenly turns 90°.
But in ER i have the problem, that i cant switch the locked on enemy. Sometimes i can't switch the right enemy, sometimes to the left but it always is impossible for at least one side.
What the ♥♥♥♥ happend here, never had those kinda problems in Dark Souls before...

But there's a squirrel or deer way over there behind a bush, look at it while something is literally chopping your spine open.

You just backstabbed or riposted your target, and even though its not dead we're going to go ahead un-target that for you while they stand up.

You're charging a Magic Glintblade sigil or Rock Sling, so we're going to go ahead and un-target right before that launches so it simply fires at nothing.

Target lock is great and all but boy oh boy it gets me killed with facepalm moments.

Dark Souls 2 has a lock on like you described and it's terrible because you sometimes lock on to the wrong enemy and end up falling off the map because of it.

No it's not working as intended
It's tuned for gamepad, not for mouse control, because on gamepad your attack buttons are separated from your camera buttons
That means if you move your mouse a picometer to the left, it's gonna change target

So no, it's not working as intended, it's garbage, and it has been garbage for 11 years
On gamepad, using left stick only ZERO camera input the target switches. The lock-on is 100% completely broken. I can't believe this game got such good reviews, it's mindblowing. It's a broken game.

Tell me about it. I have target lock on manual but it still removes my lock from a enemy and locks on to some farm animal or rabbit. if the farm animals are ones that retaliate you end up having to fight those as well.
If there are no farm animals about and I lock on to the closest enemy it swaps it self to the one furthest away just as I was about to kill the one in front of me.
Because target lock basically locks down your movement I'm forced to keep turning it off but a lot of the times when I do turn it off it will automatically turn itself back on.
The target lock is the reason for most of my deaths.

I couldn't force myself to finish the game. Looking back, every single death I had came down to camera issues. When I rolled to avoid an enemy attack and rolled off an edge it's only because the camera wouldn't lock on an enemy I could see, moves the camera around violently, get disorienting then I get hit with spam attacks and try to roll away with the camera flying all over the place.

Enemies being able to attack around corners when I can't lock on to an enemy right in front of me then when I do it switches before the attack finishes. This game is just awful... so disappointed.

Enemy attacks can go through or warp around walls but the player can't lock on to an enemy directly in front. Ok.

Seems more like a broken operator to me. Zero target locking issues here. It drops when you lose LOS sure but it literally takes .0000001 of a second to press it again and another .0000001 second to flick your right joystick and flip between what you want to target. Hardly a 'broken' game. And you know you can control your camera right?

You are incorrect, the target will switch without any camera input, without losing line of sight of the target. I just tested it with my thumb explicitly off the right stick looking at 2 enemies at once, you can't convince me reality isn't real I just saw it with my own eyes.

your joystick is probably worn and old doesn't take much for them to start leaning. Say it again sounds more like a broken operator.

If that were the case the camera would drift when not on locked on there genius. It doesn't, you're just grasping at straws clearly you're not objective just all rhetoric.

I keep having target lock issues or at least I think that's the problem. I play with a Nintendo Switch Pro controller via Bluetooth so I haven't been certain it's the game and not the controller. But at times my character will just spin circles, button's seem to stop working, becomes unresponsive, etc. Game is more than hard enough without battling the controller and/or camera (think it's a little of both). Amazing experience otherwise though.

you guys necroed an almost 6 moth thread lol. the lock on system has been the same since the souls games became a thing. its really not that bad. turn of auto lock on and it wont target random things, you just have to remember to re lock on if what your fighting gets too far away our you turn your attention to a new enemy.
