sorry didnt understand. when i hold down shift + right click + left click its the downward slash. shift + right click put weapon in sheath

You have to change the keybinding for weapon skills to something else. Since you have to hold shift to stay in the preparation stance, you will always be using the heavy attack option. So rebind the key for weapon arts to something that doesn't include shift. Then, click for horizontal and shift+click for vertical.

shift ( hold ) + right click ( hold ) + left click = vertical slash
shift ( hold ) + right click ( hold ) + shift ( release ) + left click = horizonal slash ( u have to use this key combo fast. Once u get the idea, u will get used to it )
