What is your favorite build/starting class

I've really only made one character thus far, but I picked the naked wretch one or whatever it's called. I think it's decent when I don't know what weapons or armor I'll find while playing yet, and it gives me a little more wriggle room to spec into something I like starting in at lvl 1

I went samurai because I almost always end up going with a dex melee build (with a long bow for long distance stuff), and it started with basically what I wanted out of the gate.

All I've changed was adding different shields (one 100% phys, and one buckler).

I've made 5 characters, my favorite so far is my Astrologer - spell blade build, closely followed by duel wield katana samurai.

Even in all the previous Soul titles, I always stick to 1 character and play 1 character and respec if I want to play differently. If Elden Ring is to be the same as previous titles, I can expect to see myself playing to NG+++++infinity and try reach the highest level possible.

So no different in Elden Ring, I made 1 character and I intent to play only 1 character and do everything on this character. So I picked Hero because that's the class I want to see on my status page.

I don't want my status page to call me a wretched or prisoner forever.

You actually don’t have a class the beginning just shows you which gear and stats you will have.They screwed that which is good because people like to try different builds even if they have multiple characters

I did the same thing! It's interesting starting as nothing, trying to sneak through and backstab my way to decent stats and gear.

I'm turning her into a quality build so I can try a lot of weapons. The game is so open I suspect I'll make a lot more builds in the future.

I kinda hate all the starting classes in souls. I like UGS’s and all the other heavy options, and there’s never been a starting class with that option, so I just start as wretch and work with what I find.

I’m loving the new troll greatsword and using the new weapon arts on the guts greatsword. Using lions claw on gutsword makes me feel like diet gael and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I always go for the class that has the lowest starting level.

It doesn’t give you much more room because you only have basic points on the other starting options.For example i picked vanguard for a quality build but any other class would work perfect for that as well

Most of the time is just choose the knight (or Vagabond in ER) and do a quality build.

I started astrologer but after 15 minutes started a warrior dex build that so far I’m level 40 with. I really want to do a magic only build but it looks harder so I want to feel out the game mechanics first.

I only have one character created so far, but the confessor is lowkey my favourite starting class. I'm heavily leveling up the DEX and STR tiers, so far DEX is 30 and STR is 28. Vigor and Endurance is being looked after as well

Prophet for burning and Faith or Strength/Faith build.

Yeah also a good quality build option but faith is a great path as well
