That means games that continue to improve upon their past successes, as their games have tended to do. Elden Ring basically implements everything that is great about Dark Souls with an amazingly fun world to explore and additional good mechanics for combat and crafting that make it even better. I want them to continue to evolve their future games, rather than try something so drastically different that it becomes totally unrecognizeable.
Some people hated Sekiro for example, but it has all of the Souls DNA I love. Extremely great ambience and exploration to keep you immersed, very difficult and exciting to defeat bosses and encounters, and so on. All Sekiro really lacked was the build variety, but the core combat was good enough I forgave that.
That being said, I hope that they still release other titles from time to time. I've been waiting for a new Armoured Core for a long time.
Never played Bloodborne because not on PC nor Sekiro because I like choosing my weapon, so I don't know exactly what makes them so different that you like. I'd guess I'd have to ask how one product is more creative than the other because I don't see it. I think all of the souls games I played, and certainly Elden Ring, have plenty of creativity in them.
I guess I should say I am tired of seeing things that are so similar and just have different names. All the weapons and armor in Bloodborne were new and unique. Whereas in Elden Ring you can see that there are things we have had before. I mean they couldn't even change up how the healing works in this one it's the same as it was in the souls games. That is the kind of stuff I mean when I say I wish they would forget about the souls games. You all seem to think I want them to forget what makes a souls game. Bloodborne is a souls game in that it is punishing but fair. It isn't a souls game because it's not just reusing old ideas in a new coat of paint.
I am wanting new experiences not the same thing again. And the open world is not nearly as interesting outside of how good it looks IMO. The bosses you find in the open world are easier after a couple hours of grinding and the mobs are easily manipulated to pull them one by one if you really want to.
Bloodborne didn't have any weapons from souls in it. The only exception was the Holy Moonlight Sword which Fromsoft has used as an easter egg of sorts in a bunch of their games. I liked the change because I had to relearn how to play a souls game with Bloodborne. You can't turtle behind a shield and the parry timing with the pistol was something new as well and was limited to how many bullets you had left. It's like they "forgot" about Dark Souls and made an entirely new world that wasn't hampered with the burden of "Well we should use this again". I wish Bloodborne would come to PC and get a 60fps patch at the least. That is what I mean when I say they should forget about "Dark Souls". I don't think anyone can argue that Bloodborne is not the experience we are expecting from the devs.
We wanted another Dark Souls, they gave us Bloodborne. Hope they never lose that spirit of innovation!
