Redmane castle is empty

There is nothing here, impassible bridge has nothing on it, the way up to the castle gate has no enemies, and there are no item drops anywhere either for me. I've explored about half of Redmane castle and only ran into 1 dog enemy, I think my game is bugged lol

The Castle is supposed to be empty at a certain point of the game. Pretty much at the deepest end of the Castle there should be NPCs.

Redmane Castle empties itself while the War Festival (i.e. General Radahn is available to fight) is going on. It will revert back to normal after Radahn is defeated and you speak to the old bearded man again.

old beared man? i don't remember talking to someone like that, but if you both say it empties at some point for the festival, then yeah i guess that makes sense, was just weirded out to see a castle almost entirely barren cept for dogs and slaves, but im also not finding any items either, are items just scarce here in redmane castle?

Had the same reaction during the festival too, I thought it may have been a weird bug but it's acting as intended. After you progress in the story, you can come back to see the castle with enemies and a boss in the festival gathering area.

I defeated Radahn a good long while ago and I keep checking back on the castle but nothing changes for it in my game. A couple of baddies sprinkled around and the ghostly figures of combatants in the gathering area.

I searched the forum due to the same issue, and you need to talk with the guy who was talking during the festival (he's just past the "ghostly characters" in the church-like structure). He'll say a few lines, then when you reload the zone it should be "back to normal."

Cool, thanks for that info. I'll be sure to try it in my next session. I just see this huge castle and I think damn, I wanna run that, glad to hear I'll still be able to! :D
