Two Hander for Half Stats?

Got the Grafted Great Sword, I've got 24~ish STR and 16 DEX, shouldn't I be able to wield it with 2H? The base requirements are 40 STR and 14 DEX, but don't the stat requirements halve when you wield it two handed? I CAN wield it, but it has the red X and barely does any damage still.

I can use things like the Rusty Anchor (or whatever it was called) which is above my base STR, as long as I wield it 2H it works. Why can't I with the Grafted Great Sword?

Any tips or insight are appreciated!

That's now how it works. Two-handing a weapon only boosts your STR by 1.5x, so if you wanted to two-hand the GGS you'd need 27 STR (27x1.5=40.5). You still need the 14 DEX to use it.

hold 2H increase your str by 50% (current 24 x 1.5 = 36 Str) , if the weapon require 40 str , you require 27 str for hold with 2H

No, 2-handing increases your strength by 50% when passing stat checks. You can currently wield weapons which require 36 str. If you level your str to 27 you can wield the sword :)

STR gives a multiplier bonus of 50% (1.5x) so you'll need 27 STR.

OHHHH I didn't realize it was only a 1.5x boost to strength. Had no idea, thanks a ton to everyone that replied! I'll keep grinding for better strength lol
