How to open the redmane main castle gate?

I've cleared everything, got all items that are in sight, killed all mobs, the two beyblade lions and the actual beyblade spintop machine of grief, all that's left is boss. But still no way to open the castle gate. Is the lever hidden or do we only open the gates when we have dealt with the boss in the area?
