You would really not like fighting games then.
No, I'd make an autohotkey script to replicate the old behaviour.
The same damn thing happened at DS 2 launch as well. Mouse attacks had a delay for some silly reason, people had to use autohotkey to make the mouse attacks instantaneous instead of taking half a second for an attack to commence.
While I'm at it I'd probably use Reshade to try and mitigate that damn Chromatic Aberration effect too.
But sadly using these tools are risky when anti cheat softwares are around.
Also I don't think EAC detects autohotkey anyway.
This is cheating guys... The game requires you to do 2 inputs, changing it so you only need 1 gives you an unfair advantage over others that you're bemoaning isn't standard. I doubt I'll convince you that this is cheating cuz people are stubborn and even when shown irrefutable proof, studies have shown most wont change their mind. Regardless of how you justify it, though, this is cheating. It's a small and simple cheat, but it's still cheating.
While in my opinion auto hotkeying sounds like cheating if you get into script territory. simply remaping buttons is and should be fine. *If the game simply allows it.*
It has in the past In some other games. I'm not sure whether Autohotkey has been added to the global whitelist of EAC or if it has to be whitlisted on a per game basis. If it's the latter then good luck getting FromSoft to do that.
That would suck as Autohotkey is among other things a popular accessibility tool for gamers with disabilities.
