Two handing requires two inputs now
It's really annoying to be honest with you. There needs to be an option to make it work like it used to in older titles. One press to two hand the right hand, hold to two hand your left hand.

If it wasn't for that anti cheat program I'd go and make an autohotkey script for it.

Wait, so you are saying if it wasn't for anti-cheat you would cheat?

It is annoying especially when you're so used to just holding the Y button but eventually you will sort of get used to it.

You would really not like fighting games then.

yea it is quite dog water, dont know how many times I have died or almost died fumbling around with the crap hot keys in this game. Not to mention the game constantly forgetting that you are 2h a weapon. Die and you respawn 1h the weapon, fast travel, you might show up 1h or 2h, you are constantly having to baby sit the games crap coding

No, I'd make an autohotkey script to replicate the old behaviour.

The same damn thing happened at DS 2 launch as well. Mouse attacks had a delay for some silly reason, people had to use autohotkey to make the mouse attacks instantaneous instead of taking half a second for an attack to commence.

While I'm at it I'd probably use Reshade to try and mitigate that damn Chromatic Aberration effect too.

But sadly using these tools are risky when anti cheat softwares are around.

Autohotkey isn't cheating. He is just simplifying inputs. He doesn't do anything that would normally not be possible in the game. If anything he is only doing what the devs should have done.
Also I don't think EAC detects autohotkey anyway.

This is cheating guys... The game requires you to do 2 inputs, changing it so you only need 1 gives you an unfair advantage over others that you're bemoaning isn't standard. I doubt I'll convince you that this is cheating cuz people are stubborn and even when shown irrefutable proof, studies have shown most wont change their mind. Regardless of how you justify it, though, this is cheating. It's a small and simple cheat, but it's still cheating.

pends. if its on pc, it should be mapable to one button. on controller its a bit different unless you have extra buttons and or can change button mapping enough to sate what you're after.

While in my opinion auto hotkeying sounds like cheating if you get into script territory. simply remaping buttons is and should be fine. *If the game simply allows it.*

The only reason it needs 2 inputs is because the devs ran out of controller buttons. If I have to guess OP is probably using keyboard and mouse which should allow this to be a different button as default option but sadly the devs were lazy so now the game suffers from consolitis.

It has in the past In some other games. I'm not sure whether Autohotkey has been added to the global whitelist of EAC or if it has to be whitlisted on a per game basis. If it's the latter then good luck getting FromSoft to do that.

That would suck as Autohotkey is among other things a popular accessibility tool for gamers with disabilities.
