(SOLVED, SPOILERS) About Rogier quest...

Specifically after you receive Rogier's letter telling you about D. 's Younger Brother in the Eternal City aqueducts, what are you supposed to do? I'm so near the endgame that I'm scared of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the quest up, already made a backup of my save file 6 times lmao

Basically I found this npc the letter was talking about, very scared or amnesiac idk, and I gave them the armor of his brother without choosing "don't give armor" so now he only repeats
"Ah, aah...
D-da... ri.... nghhh nghh" over and over, indicating dialogue was exhausted.

Did I missed a step? I also have the treasure of the city that I want to give to Renna but there are lots of steps in her quest that I can't do, like the potion, which I assume it's because I started Rogier's quest. Would love some guidance, thanks!

First of all, I assume you advanced on Rogier's Quest and Ranni's Quest after killing Radahn. If you did, skip this entire spoiler markdown, into the next paragraph.
If not, all you have to do is talk with both of them and exhaust dialogues, then head into the Eternal City and get the treasure then first go back to Rogier *and then* go back to Ranni. Grab both of the items they'll give you and talk with Fia at the roundtable hold. You'll get a weathered dagger and she asks you to deliver that to their owner. That person is "D". After giving it to him, reload the area and seek the new opened door.

Now that we have everything, Kill both gargoyles in the Aqueduct (Eternal City) and in the boss arena you'll spot a coffin. Hop on and get to the end of that area. You'll see some roots going up into a grace, that's our next stop. Inside that large arena there's a quite easy boss compared to the Gargoyles, and after killing them, reload the area and Fia should be sitting there. You'll have to choose wether to defy her (?) or let her hug you. I personally chose to hug her because I wanted to carry onto Rogier's legacy-- aka what I understood was the right choice for the questline, and apparently it is? Idk about the other choice but yeah

After that, Fia will talk about a death mark that no one knows where it is, she is referring to Ranni's deathmark. Head to the divine tower of Liurna and progress normally WITHOUT INTERACTING WITH THE TABLE. After you're done with the area, go back to the grace and *now* interact with the table. After ending that area, you'll reach the divine tower and get the cursemark, now go back to fia, exhaust her dialogue by reloading the area like three times, then touch her and prepare to do quite a though boss, specially when talking about framerate. After the Lichdragon Fortissax (the boss) is dead, grab the loot that Fia gives you and then sit down on the grace. Finally, you'll be able to speak with D's younger brother.

I also attempted "attacking" this npc to wake them up, I only rolled towards because it looked very weak and I do a lot of damage, but then an invisible protective barrier came out

Try absoluting your sins in the church of vows, although I don't think you can revive her
