ELDEN RING
How do you not get depressed by the environment?
I genuinely thought this would be the 1st Souls game with a beautiful environment that's brimmed with life. Instead we get another boring and empty post-apocalyptic world that is a stark reminder of the terrible events that are going on IRL. I play games to have fun not to be immersed in another gloomy and depressing world.

I get some morning sun, eat clean, exercise, and go to sleep pretty early. No game is gonna get me depressed.
Of course but does Elden Ring offer that? It offers quite the opposite, why can't we get a beautiful world like Witcher 3 that balances between creepy and beautiful. Everything looks like it's been ravaged by war and plague in all the Souls games and instead of seeing things being rebuilt everyone is a mindless ghoul.

because that's not the look the creators were going for???? how is this even a question lol the game is beutiful in it's own way

That's some nice 1080p drab looking medium settings RDR2.

Called it. Ya can tell, since Steam tells ya the resolution, plus ya running low textures and missing bump mapping since detail set to low.

Some of them are in 1080p yeah so what, I got a 4K TV before Christmas, and you just spew more lies it's sad. I'm bored honestly. Anyone with a brain knows it's not on low settings. You just make up whatever you want on the spot. You are the one going out of your way not to genuinely discuss things and just look to troll and make up bs for your own entertainment. I'm done with you now. Bye bye baby

Simple. Most people don't have a hormone imbalance and can see dark and dreary environments and not get depressed. That or most people aren't overly sensitive people like some *cough* OP *cough*

You want compare real life events with Souls games. Whats wrong with you?
Just thought as well it's hillarious this guy is raging at me saying Elden Rings graphics look trash and tries to cope by telling me that I must play RDR2 in low settings but like even if that was low settings it still looks way better than Elden Ring so double fail? Lmao good thread

Thought you were running 1440p max settings?
Are you guys arguing about graphical quality in terms of picture quality or actual quality? I am running ER at 1440p, downsampled to my monitor which is 1080, and I am using med-high settings. The game does look like it's from 2016, but if you run on higher settings and when using a higher render res for better AA it looks very nice. Only when it rains, in some areas, does the game look straight-up "ugly".
The answer is simple, you must have a dark soul yourself to not be depressed by the environment
I'm good with the world, it isn't as beautiful as some make it sound, it's what open world environments look like. There are some wow's but it's not top tier look wise. Now the enemy models they are top tier. Indoors, very solid.
I won't say depressed, but I tend to feel the most meh with desert landscapes. Everyone is different.

To me, Elden Ring's world is beautiful and not depressing.

That's not how it works. The type of environment int his game is conductive to despair and hopelessness, even the story admits that everything is pointless. Not to mention the glaring issues like poor performance and empty map design that exacerbates all the negative feelings in your brain. If I want to get depressed I can watch the news, playing a video game shouldn't make anyone feel this way.

I'm just pointing out how you're a liar is all. That's what counts. These are the same screenshots, nothing better, that I mentioned.

You claimed 1440p, these are not thus. These are no where near max settings, and look like crap.

So again, it was just pointing out how you're a liar, and have zero credibility in anything you say.

Does look way better then anything you posted though, just pointing that out.
