it put a smile on my face that out of liek the first 20 ppl to play the game, 3 of them had a mind to bait us into suicideal leaping
Guides let me figure out where stuff that I missed is when I go into NG+ or just start a second playthrough. Messages do not because they are mostly written by people who think "but, hole" is peak humor.
well you said it yourself, some of the messages are actually quite helpful and appreciated, its just a shame that we can't filter out the 53rd "try fingers, but hole" before exiting the starting zone, somehow. if anything there should be an item that bans certain phrases like that from showing up all over the world.
use item > choose keywords > messages containing keywords in that order no longer show up.
there, now the trolls can have their fun and i can have mine without having to disable ALL messages and play offline.
nah dude we was poor as eff in usa, that's one of the reasons we left, so my daughter never needed money for school lol XD
lets give them the

NIGHT
And get the full meta walkthrough with all spoilers attached? No thanks. I would rather grind my ass off against a boss and get worked up and frustrated, only to give up but then have my mood lightened by some funny message on the way out. Or on the flipside, beat the boss and get access to the other messages people have left. If you are spending time reading multiple messages (only 1-3 show up at a time in a spot lol it's not even a lot) in a spot such as a real wall - that's your problem.
I find tons of good messages, some are simple but perfectly placed, others are usefull, some are random and hilarious - it breaks up the otherwise pretty hardcore gameplay. I will likely to a full solo offline playthrough at some point but for now it's a great feeling to be experiencing this wonderful world in what feels like "real time" alongside other players who are leaving messages. You can even see the effects of the messages in real time. I wrote one saying "hidden path ahead, faith is required", gesture pointing out over an open chasm. I finished the dungeon and then on the way back to the summon pool to fight the boss again I noticed many red stains gathering around the spot. Some interactions with my message and then even a new message popping up saying "liar ahead" lol. You can't find that kind of emergent meme/communication/gameplay anywhere else, as someone fairly new to DS series that was a really unique thing to see.
You people are literally victimising yourself and acting as if the messages appear posted on walls in neon colours. You have been going around pressing Y to read messages and getting yourselves worked up about it. Then you clearly continue to press Y to read them and are clearly reading the same messages in similar locations over and over - then you complain as if it's anyone elses problem lol.
The past few days in this forum have really shown how entitled modern gamers are. They want everything to be their way or no way. "Wahh your messages that I choose to read are annoying me" "Wahh I'm having stuttering whilst 75% of the players aren't, this game deserves to die" "Wahh it's too hard why haven't they made it easy and where are my helping hands and context menus for button presses" .. It's literally a case of grow up. You're more acting more childish than the people writing the silliest messages. If you want a game that plays exactly the way you want it to play and all it's mechanics work exactly how you want them to - go and make your own damn game!
I am the guy that leaves all of the Try Jumping messages by Deathfalls.
