Performance question - 1060 6gb
HI! thinking about buying the game but lots of people seems to have problems with it, anyone with 1060 6 gb and can attest that the game is playable in 60 frames in at least 1080p?

No it won't reach 60. I have an RX 480 @1400 Mhz running it at a solid 50. So expect 40-50 fps.

Im getting 20-40 fps in most areas with geforce 1080

Just set the game to max. You'll have roughly 60fps in most areas with occasional drops into the 40s no matter what you do, or what computer you use.

you have to test the game yourself. at the moment it is random if you get a flawless experience like me (gtx 1080) or the game just doesnt start, constantly crashes, freezes and has bad performance overall. i have already read that many people with 1060 6gb have a overall good performance and some simply dont. use the 2 hour refund from steam if it dosnt work. but make sure to go in the open world to really test it out. my graphics card is barely used at max settings 1080p it is definetly more cpu demanding

1060 6gb will be fine for 1080p but the game currently has severe performance bugs for many people.

Be aware that you are going to fight against the bosses+ stutters... not because of hardware, simply the state of the game rn. I guess FS was trying to introduce hard mode on the game. The stutters are the difficult increase.

I have at 1060 6gb and the game can run at 60 fps if you lower the graphics settings. On high it wont run at 60 but the main issue I am having is stutters. Every 30 seconds to 1 minute it freeze frames (meaning drops to 1 fps) exactly 2 times and goes back to 60. Ive tried many different NVIDIA control panel things and nothing works for the stutter.I overclocked it and tested and the card is fine and stable on everything else but the game still studders.. I think Elden Ring has poor optimization and FS is gonna have to update the game for it to run smooth on our card.

Even if you lose a single frame, the game freezes and/or slows down anyway.

I have an EVGA 1060 6GB SC and I get 45 to 60 on extremely wide open areas but constant 60 everywhere else.

I've got no problem so far, setting high gtx 1060
no you won't have 60 fps

Yup, my kids' PC has that card in it with a 9600K. It runs at mostly 60 fps on medium. If you want an unwavering 60, you may have to drop to low settings.
Fang Feb 28, 2022 @ 10:42am
Yeah, you can get 60 FPS. Just gotta lower a *few* settings down from the maximum. Not all though. Textures, AA, and lighting can stay on high (off the top of my head)
