How hard was Sorcery nerfed?
I saw that sorceries were incredibly powerful in the network test and figured I'd finally make my first character a pure INT caster.

Welp, it turns out they nerfed most spells into the ground. It starts out strong, but then drops off a cliff. Does anyone have numbers on how bad the nerf was? What did they increase/decrease and by how much?

The basic pebble and swift shard spells are the best in terms of damage/FP, carvian slicer is good for close range and glintstone arc is usually enough for large groups. However, the damage on everything but the carvian slicer is so low, I need to allocate most of my flasks to FP to have any chance to reach the next site of grace. Most other spells are absolute crap and deal way less damage for more FP. Crystal Barrage and Glintsone Phalanx have no valid use cases in PVE. It seems brokenly bad, like they accidentally cut the damage in half or something. These spells are unusable.

I've killed Godrick, I'm sitting at 32 int, 20 mind, 15 dex and an S-scaling staff and the damage is pitiful. I think I'm quitting and waiting for a patch, or maybe rerolling and trying a faith build. Incantations seems a lot more powerful than sorceries.

Anyone got any details on this state of INT magic? I've seen grumbles on Reddit that From nerfed magic, but no clear takes. Some people are saying sorceries are OP, which is crazy, its only powerful if you use it to cheese some harder enemies or go hit and run with Torrent.

Idk what you mean, sorc can be very busted and powerful. Its just a pain to get smashed for being a glass cannon throughout the early game and it was hard to find good gear. Soon as I picked up Rock Fling, the S tier staff and other stuff, I was able to nuke the 2nd boss. When I was fighting Margit I was tearing his HP to pieces with pebbles(lol). Most enemies if theyre not packing heat will get blasted in 1-2 hits by pebble at int 30 and up. Even if they're packing heat provided I have space I can just spam pebble and destroy them. I use a stamina talisman and it helps with the drain when casting(I have END 9) and my stamina hasn't been that much of an issue to me. Crystal barrage is crap, I don't use it(tried it once).

I feel the opposite you did.

I went and got the Rock Sling spell, tried it, and I agree that, for bosses, this might be viable. But I feel that most of the cool Glintstone spells were at a similar power level before and were nerfed hard, leaving few choices for INT casters. If I use rock sling and meteorite staff (that cant be upgraded), am I going to spend the next 100 hours casting the same spell with the same staff, since everything else is garbage? The only other piece of equipment I've changed is the +2 INT helmet, everything else is starter after 16 hours.
theres a abunch of sorcery spells and especially scaling weapons, alot are just near the later parts of the game
