Is it possible to beat the game without Melina?
I have refused her offer and been playing so far without her help. Not that while ago I did read that via her is the only way to level up. But I’m wondering if I can beat the game without her or will I be forced to accept her offer to progress to the end.

tbh i dont know if you can finish the game (you may need the round table area) but without leveling its just going to be one shot city and long periods of time to beat things. you would only have base starter weapons and you can only get them to +3 (you need the blacksmith in the round table to go further). unless youre very skilled and pretty going to try and beat the game via no hit, then i would say no.

I'd wager you can intentionally ditch her and get some bonus for doing so in NG+.

You can do it Skeleton!!!

I briefly entertained such an idea, but possibility of irreversible forfeit of level up mechanic was too dreadful for me.

Considering it is an option at all - beating the game is at least 'possible'. Reasonable - so far i highly doubt it.

Isn’t it required only to kill the boss to get there? Haven’t beaten him yet.

I heard somewhere that if you reject her and then collect enough runes to get above level 30, you become a wizard.

Not true, there is actually another blacksmith in the world who can push you past +3, but he does take a little while to get to unless you intentionally gun for him from the start. Biggest detriment really would be the lack of a horse I'm pretty sure, as there is just a lot of places you cant reach, and items you simply can't acquire without the usage of Torrent. Not far enough into the game to know if its necessary from a progress/story perspective to finish it, but you'd definitely be making things more tedious/difficult for yourself. Could make for a fun challenge run down the line if nothing else!

I don't think it's irreversible. My friend rejected it on his second character and he can still talk to her at graces.
