This game is way too focused on magic users..

Like i wanted a bunch of cool moves, and weapons, and more for my hulk Hero class guy, but everything i do in this game unlocks stuff for summoning, or powers for magic users only.. Like beating Dragons? Get something only Magic users get.. Beat bosses, mostly just summons for magic users.. Why even bother when i know i am likely to get nothing i can use in the end? Wish i chose a magic user at this rate.

Funny although there is a lot of Magic I switched to using Mostly Melee as that seems to be more effective. Go to Castle Morne the boss there drops a very powerful sword for your "Hulk"

Magic users have their flaws. They are extremely squishy most times and unless you know specifically where to look, you are probably left using your starter staff for a long time. And then they generally have flasks toward FP so if they do survive a hit, probably won't have too many ways to heal up.

But there are some areas that are significantly easier with sustained ranged / magic. e.g. assaulting a caravan's transports without aggravating the caravan guards, casting against the legs of a giant golem, etc.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to find sorcery-focused weapons and Ashes of War, and have four (of like twenty I've found) magical Ashes, two staves, and only the Sorceries available from Limgrave.

Seems you've been exploring and looting areas distinct from mine, since I've been feeling left out in the cold while my weapon-focused friends have tons of toys to play around with.

Yup, it's a relatively short quest-line too. There's a place called the Rose Church where you start it.

Trust me you don't. Magic is extremely underpowered and every magic-scaling weapon is broken to where you do LESS damage than the non-magic versions

Hahaha, I feel you there.

Been alternating between characters to try things out, but the shield-heavy armor character is progressing past the mage. And as he finds things the sorcerer can use, I may switch over real quick (or not quick if a dungeon) to pick it up.

Think of this game as a collaboration. Hire guys who look like they do magic. You cant do it all. Yet I need brutes to really take agro when im doing my magic stuff. if you cant beat a certain boss, learn them inside and out or listen to advise around those bosses from the messages. Im kinda stubborn and like to learn the move sets of the boss so they dont hit me for like 10-20 move sets. one can only do so much on first form of bosses and phycho forms too.

My comment isn't saying that magic users are very powerful, or anything. Its just that the game has wayyyy to many items for them. Like i wish there were more crazy random weapons to fine as their are magic, but everything i beat i junk i cant use.

Summons don't scale with stats and Ashes of War are still mostly aimed at melee warrior builds.

Just because it uses FP doesn't mean it's just for mages.

Sword of night and flame does amazing damage and its skills are two of the most powerful in the game that I can tell. it scales C with INT and Faith at +5 and not much over min stats its AR is 433 and it is a straight sword
