That's why it's an open world game. Now you can turn off your automatic back-patter that you have behind your chair and stfu. It's an ADVENTURE game. You go out and defeat lesser things, improve gear and other skills, then try a boss.
Also, what exactly is a "casual"???
I still can't figure that out. I bought this game mostly for the exploration and the world. However, I feel pretty good about the fact that on the first day of the game I couldn't defeat anything, even ordinary enemies were giving me fits. But several days later, I finally got the rhythm of combat down, got to where I was actually able to successfully block, parry, and use counterattacks, and now I'm can routinely kill giants and some of the tougher out in the world enemies. Killed one of the mini-bosses a well.
That might be nothing to you but it's huge for me.
Souls combat doesn't come naturally to me. Takes a while to "get good". But I'm way better today than I was a few days ago.
But please keep these kinds of arrogant, troll posts to yourself. Seriously, I don't give a crap how fast you could beat Margit. I guarantee I'm having a better time playing the game than you because I'm actually taking my time and enjoying it.
Course they can. I'm casual. I'm not going to beat him just yet, but I could with the setup I have now. I am sword/board trying to make a paladin. I have barricade shield that all but negates stamina loss, basically severely reduces it. Have the Uchigatana +3, but I'll level it soon as well. I want to beat all the bosses in that one zone before I take on the boss. I want all the things lol.
Now I have a new baby mage character that I'll play sooner to kill him. I wanted to get some points and a staff/armor and I'll face him as well. I'll get the jellyfish Ashe and a couple others. So this game can be even played and beat by a casual.
There is an item you can get that binds him to the ground on his first phase. it's a questline, you might already have it though.
Or just never fight Margit or Godrick neither are needed.
I would assume so, he's pretty distinctive. He throws golden knives at you from range and when he gets to half health he starts jumping around with a giant golden hammer. Compared to the area that follows, the Ulcerated Tree Spirit, the Tree Sentinel, Bloodhound Knight Darriwil and a bunch of the open world enemies Margit is an absolute pushover. He's a character fit for the difficulty of a Dark Souls game but is weirdly trivial compared to most Elden Ring enemies.
Really depends on the other 'bosses' you fought. The standard ones are easier yeah, but Margit is like a test for Godrick, Radahn and Ranalla (I've not done any other demi-gods tbh)
Good example being the magma wyrm, I've fought 2 of those and beat them both first time. I think I was probably overleveled by then though.
When you're so sarcastic it hurts :')
Rofl! Ohh a HAAA HA HAAA. What part of your pathologically damaged soul would actually HOPE that other players don't progress in the game?
I have bad news for you. I'm a roleplaying "casual." I just killed Margit.
And guess what. This is NOT a Souls game. This game also rewards exploration and patience as well as "get gud" combat skills. I patiently waited until I had a number of spirit summons, including the Rotten Stray Dog. The dog has a diseased bite which inflicts constant damage on an enemy and never runs out. Even after he's killed the disease will do damage for the entire fight.
I upgraded him to +3. The only weapon I had was a measely +2 Astrologer's staff.
All I had to do was keep my distance and use ranged magic to damage him while he continued losing health because of the disease. And down he went!
I'm in the castle. Now get the hell over yourself.
