This is exactly what I expected a more open world souls game would be.
What the heck were you expecting??
Is always a good sign for me when i want to engage in combat, it feels meaty. Also the sense of progression is there can literally see your self growing stronger.
Same weapons, mostly.
same enemies different skin. We all know whats hiding under those imps, we were fighting them in the undead settlement
A giant guards the path down.
Past him is an invisible scarab to puzzle out.
Past that is a marauder camping.
Turn around and head the other way, passing some land octopus.
A group of demi humans guard the entrance to their cave, complete with a boss fight, an NPC quest, and a route to an island shrine.
Past them is a merchant.
Then finally a group of skeletons surround the jump pad back to the start.
What more could have been added to that beach to make the world less empty?
KoA had a ton of lore and side quests to keep you busy constant. Plus you could build up player homes and the like. Had meaningful crafting. Randomize loot to hunt. Mix and match builds to play with. Its.
Pay attention to the environment, follow the clues (there are plenty) and you'll find stuff all over the place. Have you at least found any of the underground cities ruins (there are several, and they're gigantic) yet?
